Babies and Precious Moments commemmoratives go hand-in-hand, both are cute and cuddle-y! Sandylion has an extensive selection of licensed Precious Moments products perfect for scrapping those baby photos. The colors are all pastel in shades of pink, yellow, green, blue and purple harmonizing in simple plaid and baby item collage patterns. Buttons, bows and safety pins galore! The lovely Precious Moments figures with their large innocent eyes and just plain cute poses make you go "awwww" when looking at them!

I was sent a nice selection from the Precious Moments Baby Collection:

The patterned paper is on the light weight side with the pattern printed on one side and a white back. The stickers are plentiful per package or sheet. The quality is very good. The Bits of Glitz have little rhinestones, glitter and metallic cording that all sparkle. The Gem Stickers are raised epoxy style stickers in pictures and phrases. The Paper Tole Stickers are dimensional from multiple layers of the design stacked with thin foam tape. The Clear Stickers are very sticky and practically disappear into the paper. All of the designs are full color with nice detail and differentiation between the sets.

The paper and sticker selection was perfect for a Christening layout that I had been waiting to scrap. The feelings of this special event were conveyed through the soft papers and simple embellishments. The combination of the base cardstock and Sandylion elements worked very well with little else needing to be added.

This next page was a little bit of a tongue-in-cheek, but the Precious Moments Baby Collection was up for the task. Coordinating the patterned papers with the cardstock was easy giving the picture the focus it needed. A single gem sticker in the lower right corner was the final touch the page needed.

I've enjoyed using the Precious Moments Baby Collection to commemmorate some of the lives for the younger members of my family. My only recommendation is that an update to the patterned paper would liven up the collection a bit, in design and colors. I believe the papers would better match the stickers to provide a more cohesive collection.

I can see a lot of baby, Easter and birthday cards coming out of the remaining stash! Don't forget your holiday gifts - this collection would be terrific to use for a baby album for a friend or relative. Check out your local retailer for the Precious Moments papers and stickers for just the right "Loving, Caring, Sharing" touch.

I have always enjoyed Sandylion Sticker Designs products. It is probably because my daughter is six, but I also confess to having a love of all things Precious Moments. In fact, I started a collection of the porcelain Precious Moments figurines for my daughter when she was born. She will get them when she is old enough to treasure them. I just love the sweetness, innocence, and elegance of all things Precious Moments. So when I received this collection I was excited!

I received most of the Precious Moments Baby Boy collection with some Baby Girl patterned paper thrown in. I was thrilled to get the baby boy collection because I just had a new nephew born two weeks ago. Perfect timing! I received 5 different sticker modules, a package of rub-ons, a package of gem stickers, a package of paper tole stickers, a package of Bits of Glitz stickers, and six different patterns of paper. All of the Precious Moments collection coordinates beautifully with each other.

My first project was a mini album using the Precious Moments baby boy collection. This mini album was so easy and fast to make because everything coordinates perfectly and there is no guesswork involved. I love the finished product and can’t wait to give it to my sister-in-law.

My next project was to make a card to welcome my nephew into the family. I let my daughter her pick the sticker I would use. I love that the card was so easy!

Sandylion is one of the few scrapbooking companies with a large collection of licensed products. These collections let scrapbookers incorporate their favorite characters on their scrapbook pages. When I heard I was reviewing the Sandylion Precious Moments collection, I was not sure what to expect. I was familiar with the Precious Moments figurines, but had no idea there were scrapbooking products available in this theme.

I received two sets of clear stickers in a wedding theme: one includes Precious Moments characters and the other features borders with hearts, flowers and wedding bells. I also received 12 pieces of coordinating, baby-themed patterned paper. Sandylion also has matching baby stickers available in the Precious Moments collection, as well as other themes such as birthday and graduation.

The colors in this collection are primarily pastels. They include yellow, pink, green, blue and pink. They are light pastels and have a clean, fresh feeling. The papers do not have a heavily textured appearance, but rather light backgrounds with defined icons like buttons, bows, clothes, and other baby motifs. The stickers I received, although wedding themed, have a similar feel. Since the Precious Moments characters are children, they have an innocence and cuteness about them that differentiates them from other scrapbooking products.

For my page, I used a baby picture of my daughter. I wanted to demonstrate how well these papers coordinate with each other. Layering and combining paper is one of my favorite techniques, and was really easy with this paper! I used four of the Sandylion Precious Moments papers, overlaying them to achieve a balanced look. I also used one of the clear Precious Moments border stickers. I accented this page with some additional stickers, and added ribbon and flower to go with the baby theme and add some texture.

I decided to use the Sandylion Precious Moments stickers to make a wedding card. I selected one of the character images and placed it in the middle of my cardstock. I cut some of the hearts from the border sticker and overlaid them on the large sticker. One thing I discovered about these stickers is that they are repositionable. Great feature! I added an epoxy accent and my card was complete.

As with most of the Sandylion licensed collections, the Precious Moments collection works on several levels. If you collect or just like Precious Moments characters these papers are a must! The really capture the feeling of Precious Moments. However, even if you are not an admirer of Precious Moments these are great baby papers. They feature perfect baby colors, easy to use patterns, and most likely coordinate with embellishments you already own. In either case, I recommend the Sandylion Precious Moments collection.

Precious Moments first inspired us in 1978 when we were introduced to these teardrop-eyed figurines. Sandylion brings these much loved cuties to the scrapbooking industry with their papers, stickers, albums and rub-ons. These products gave me an opportunity to work with the baby photos of my children that have been in albums for years.

For my Precious Moments review I received:

The Angel Stickers sheet has 4 larger stickers of angels and numerous halos, stars and hearts. The Angel Phrase Stickers sheet included sayings such as "You Are An Angel To Me", "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Heavenly Blessings". The Newborn Stickers sheet 3 large stickers of baby including one napping on a moon and another kneeling on a scale, a large "Baby" sticker and small stickers of blocks, stars and bottles. The Newborn Borders sheet has six 12" border stickers in three different themes. There is a patchwork, beaded "Baby" word and a border of blocks. All of these adorable stickers match the patterned papers. There are gingham patterns in blue and pink, buttons on a blue background, buttons and bows on a pink background, patchwork images on a yellow background and the most adorable bay bibs, hats, booties and socks on a green background. I could not wait to work with these pastels and create some adorable baby layouts.

For my first layout I used some of the blue papers. The border stickers coordinated with the papers. I even trimmed up one border sticker to create a journaling box. The stork delivering the new baby was the great embellishment to add. When using the stickers I did trim the "Heavenly Blessing" sticker in half to use it in the left corner. However, since I had previously placed the sticker in a different position I noticed that even after pressing down on the sticker it curls up on the corners and does not stick down permanently.

Paint (Craft Smart Acrylic Craft Paint: Dark Blue)
Pen (Sakura: Microperm, Marvy Uchida: Cherry)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Permanent Glue Runner)

After creating a layout for my son it was now time to try out some of the girl themed papers and stickers. I wanted to use the sticker of the angel peeking down from a cloud and place it on the layout so the sticker is placed above a photo of our new baby. I did notice, however, that the patterned paper as well as the dark background of the photo does show through from under the sticker. I decided to leave it on the layout but I may have been more pleased with the results if I had first placed the sticker on cardstock and then trimmed it out.

Finally, there was an adorable angel sticker with the angel standing behind a pocket. I turned this sticker into a shaker box. I trimmed around the sticker after I had placed it cardstock. This cute little angel will look great on a layout or card.

The quality of these Sandylion products is outstanding. I would have liked to have had stickers with dark-haired characters to match my own dark-haired babies. I did have a problem with stickers adhering fully after they've been moved. But even with those issues I still enjoyed working with these Precious Moments products. I am sure they will be appreciated by collectors of the figurines and scrapbookers who have plans for baby projects.

The name "Sandylion" is practically synonymous with the word "stickers." A trip to the scrapbooking aisle of craft stores usually means row after row of stickers featuring favorite images of every ilk, branded with the rainbow-colored "Sandylion" logo and its accompanying cartoon lion. Also instantly recognizable are Precious Moments figurines and images. These porcelain-faced, teardrop-eyed boys and girls are forever dressed in soft pastels and pictured in every sweet childhood moment ever imagined, from a sweet kiss to a naughty moment with a favorite puppy dog. I can't remember ever not knowing what they were. So Sandylion's licensed Precious Moments stickers and 12" x 12" papers bring up warm, familiar, sentimental feelings and make for instantly precious papercrafting projects.

I received several sheets of scrapbooking paper to coordinate with the Precious Moments sticker collection. Each is a true 12" x 12" in size, ready for scrapping, with no tear-off sheets or other such distractions. On the back, in pastel shades that make the smaller print nigh impossible to read, are printed notations about licensing, copyright, and "CK-OK" and "acid and lignin free" status. The designs themselves seem quintessential Precious Moments: light pastel colors, baby images such as bows, buttons and blankets, and an even distribution of blue 'boy,' pink 'girl,' and yellow and green 'gender neutral' papers. Most seem squarely intended for scrapbooking baby photos, though a pretty paper featuring fluffy clouds and a couple of weave designs may open themselves to more possibilities.

The 'baby' papers made a quick and pretty project of this mini envelope brag book. The 5.5" x 12" themed stickers sheets feature images of Precious Moments boys and girls, as well as smaller coordinating images of cute little bugs, bumble bees, and the like. The larger stickers were perfect for decorating the front and back covers, made from standard 3.5"x5" envelopes. Smaller sticker images made beautiful embellishments for the inside pockets.

Themed sticker sheets include many common childhood themes, ranging from baby shower, to Christmas, to art projects, farm animals, little boys, little girls, and friendship. Though the adorable Noah's Ark sheet might first bring to mind a decorated nursery, I enjoyed using the generously sized stickers for this page featuring my son's pre-K "Noah's Ark" project. All of the stickers received for review were of the same general style. Images are printed on a clear sticker, with a small clear border around each image. The stickers are not entirely opaque, so that when placed directly on a colored or patterned paper, some of the background image or coloring shows through. It doesn't destroy the image, but it is visible, as underneath Noah's Ark here.

One of my fondest personal connections with Precious Moments is with the figurines themselves. My husband's mother spent years collecting Precious Moments, and (as the mother of a son and a devoted 'dog mommy') she specifically sought out the figurines featuring boys and their best doggie friends. "Little Boy Stickers" added the perfect touch to a page about Grandma Karen and her favorite figures. For this page, I placed each sticker on solid colored cardstock and cut it out before adhering it to the page. It was too distracting to see the different colors underneath the images, in this instance. Fortunately, these stickers can be repositioned several times without tearing the paper underneath, so my creative change of heart was easy to enact.

I understand that Precious Moments figurines are licensed, copyrighted artwork, and the unobtrusive artist's signature on each sticker doesn't bother me a bit. However, many of the stickers also include a black copyright notice just off the image, on a clear portion of the sticker, that did bother me. Why couldn't that have been printed in pastel, like the notices on the backside of the patterned papers? I snipped several of the more glaringly placed copyrights, but would have preferred not to have to do so.

Sandylion's Precious Moments stickers and coordinating papers are beautiful embellishments for baby gifts and baby and early childhood pages, as well as layouts including the famous figurines themselves. Aside from the slight inconveniences of the dark-print copyright notices on the sticker borders and the tendency for patterned or darker background papers to show through the images, these beautiful stickers are quite user-friendly. I feel I can safely recommend these to scrapbookers looking to embellish their stories about life's most (bear with me!) precious moments.
