I was excited to receive the Sandylion Camping Collection, which contained 2 different sticker sheets, and six different 12" x 12" single-sided patterned papers. I was immediately inspired by the beautiful color combos in this collection! Warm browns, greens, and oranges, were complimented with a bright blue and overall distressed look. The "Camping Words" sticker sheet totally rocks, as it has 46 different light-weight stickers, all in different shapes, sizes, and colors with cute sayings and pictures! I personally love these type of word fetti stickers because they lend themselves to so many different design possibilities. You could design a really cute page using nothing other than the papers and stickers alone! The "Camping Icons" stickers have a clear vellum like quality around the pictures and words. This offers the possibility of either adhering the sticker to a project as is, or you could color the back of the sticker with paint, ink, etc... before adhering it in order to add a different effect!
Versatility is something I look for when buying specifically themed scrapbook products. I want to know that I can use the same products for other projects not related to the theme. Each of the patterned papers in this collection could easily be used with any theme, not just for camping. Even the "Camping Phrase" paper, which features a collage of outdoor sayings, could be cut apart and used as accents on other non-camping themed projects!
On my first layout, I really wanted to focus on showing off the amazing colors in this set and also how well they all coordinate. I've been wanting to scrap this picture of my son for awhile now, but was hesitant because of the blur in the picture (due to a firework). To my surprise, I was immediately inspired to use this picture, because I felt like the overall distressed look of the patterns in the paper matched the overall look I would need to pull it off.

Stickers (Sandylion, Camping Collection: Camping Words)

Pop Dots (All Night Media)

I wanted to focus on embellishing with the stickers in my second layout. One might think that using the Camping Words stickers with the Camping Phrase paper might be overkill, but I thought they blended great! I used pop dots under the photo to add a little extra depth. The only thing I used on this layout besides the patterned papers, stickers, and some craft paper, was a brown pen!

As I mentioned above, I always like to find ways to use specifically themed products with a variety of pictures and other themes. So I wanted to add a third layout where I did just that. This layout is about my children waiting outside for the school bus...and well just looking cute. Even though it's not a page about camping, I used 5 of the papers from my kit for the design, and even cut out a phrase from the "Camping Phrase" paper and used it as an embellishment.

Although I thought the paper was a little on the thin side, it did sand and ink nicely. The colors were inspiring, fun, and easy to work with. I plan on using more of this line for future creations and would recommend the Sandylion Camping Collection to everyone!

We love camping. I have tons of pictures of camping trips in the past few years, but I have scrapped very few of them. Most of the theme-based camping products that I have run across just don’t seem to appeal to my need for bright colors and fun themes. Honestly, many camping related products just seem to “formal” for the type of camping we do. So when I opened my package of products from Sandylion, I was taken by the bright colors in this collection that can be used for fun camping layouts, but also a number of different themes.
This collection consists of six different patterned papers, with fun titles such as Green Wilderness, Campfire, Fireflies, Camping Trip, Solitude, and Camping Phrases. There are also two sheets of stickers which coordinate. The quality of the papers and cardstocks in this collection are comparable to all of the other Sandylion products that I have used in the past, the papers are 12" X 12", but can be easily cut down to any size one would prefer, and are of course acid and lignin free. What struck me the most about this collection, though, is the bright colors. I love the bright greens, blues, and oranges. Definitely a change from most camping products that I have seen which are mainly dull browns and greens. I knew these would be fun products to work with.
By far, my favorite paper in the collection is the Campfire paper. The circular, sunburst shapes which are printed on a distressed bright orange background make this paper extremely versatile. I used it for my first layout, and was immediately wishing I had more.

My next layout ended up a little more simple. A few stickers, a little bit of stamping, and I felt the layout was done. I feel that the bright colors of the paper compliment the wide array of clothing that my sons were wearing in the photo.

Sandylion Scrapbooking Products are extremely easy to use. The theme-based product lines coordinate so well, and they seem to have a theme to go along with any picture one might have. If they don’t, you can be sure that they will shortly. The Camping collection from Sandylion is sure to fill the niche for fun camping pictures, with just a bit of humor. I love the papers in this collection and I am sure you will too.

Sandylion is well known for its vast selection of stickers. Some might be surprised to discover the great variety of paper collections which they also create. The new Camping collection is full of vibrant color and creative pattern varieties that will capture your fancy and make scrapping your outdoor photos a breeze! The collection includes 6 different patterned papers, which range from the muted green of a forest to the vibrant orange of a sparkling campfire; from the bright stripes of a camp tarp to the playful browns and greens of nighttime fireflies; from a subtle, relaxing plaid to a sheet full of camping words, phrases and images.
This collection is perfect for photos from a camping trip, a fishing expedition, a hike through the local nature center or a romp in the park. It is, however, not limited to camping or the great outdoors. The earth-tone palette would work also well for masculine themes. The coordinating sticker sheet contains many fun and clever expressions to liven up your layouts or cards.
These papers were a perfect match for photos taken during a recent trip to Northern California where we stopped to check out the spectacular giant redwoods of Big Sur. The circles on the Fireflies paper were perfect representations of the trees while the subtle plaid of Solitude reflects the calm one feels when they walk among these giants.

I love the playful nature of the Campfire and Fireflies patterned paper and created this cheerful card. I punched the circles from the fireflies paper and added brad accents.

Sandylion has once again developed a paper collection full of fun and imaginative design. Don’t be misled by the title of the collection. Although it is perfect for your camping photos, I think you will also find this paper quite versatile and useful for many different scrapping subjects.

After camping this summer I knew that I had to be part of this review! I am not what you would call a nature girl. I really prefer the air conditioned rooms of a motel to what I consider typical camping conditions. So when I was approached with the idea of camping in the northwest part of our country, well I jumped at it. And since it was probably the last time I will ever camp, I knew that I had to be part of this review.
Sandylion has a great formula for putting together a good selection of papers without creating so many that you are overwhelmed. This paired with a sticker sheet or two, creates a collection that is very affordable, and one that allows you the ability to own all of it. For the Camping collection, there are six papers and two sticker sheets. The color scheme threw me for a minute when I first opened my box. The oranges and blues seemed to be very close to neon. However, once I started looking at my pictures, I realized that our tent was that exact shade of almost neon blue. Way to go Sandylion!!
I realized very quickly that this collection was going to be a great one for our photos. Like I mentioned above, the colors are spot on for the camping gear that we had. And the use of browns and greens really made nature pop. I am such a lover of anything orange right now, and the orange paper in this collection is beautiful! It has a subtly orange on orange flourish pattern with little dots of blue and brown. The stickers are either clear or phrases. I was very excited with the phrases! They seemed to have every phrase that I could think of on there, and many that described our trip.
My first layout uses those phrase stickers to create a boarder along the top of my page. I then laid out the page in blocks, and used the orange paper to pull your eye through my page. I cut the tent block from on of the patterned papers and added snowflakes to go along with our camping story. I am really pleased with this page, and how easy it was to create using these papers!

My second page uses the Green Wilderness paper as my background. Then I added pieces from the Solitude (plaid) and the Fireflies (brown) papers. I created circles from the orange paper. Using chipboard as the base I created the striped boarder and added my title and journaling. Again these papers were perfect against my pictures! I love how the orange pops against the browns and greens.

My third page was created using the Firefly (brown) paper as my background. I created a long mat for the photos using cardstock and punched a hole in the bottom left corner so that the brown paper would show through. I love the small round stickers from the phrases sticker sheet. One of them said “life at it’s best”. I thought it was perfect for these pictures.

I love working with Sandylion papers and stickers. It appears that they really look for colors and phrases that work with the theme of the collection. I love that the phrase stickers included phrases like “we’re nuts” and “rain, rain go away”. I can’t believe that I was worried for one second about these papers not being perfect for my camping pictures. Now that I have used the papers, I see just how well it all goes. And I think that this collection is really the best thing to use with your camping or nature photographs!

My parents have had some form of recreational vehicle since I was about age 10 or 11. Consequently, our family has been "roughing it" in the RV since that time. A while back, my father gathered pictures of all of his RV's and asked me to put together an album of these pictures. One of the problems I immediately ran into was finding appropriate papers for the pictures. I wanted papers that reflected the outdoors, without being too "cutesy". Sandylion has once again put together a collection of papers to meet my needs.
The Sandylion Camping collection is a set of papers and stickers that features papers reflecting to colors of the outdoors, without the "cutesiness" that other camping supplies have had. These papers are fully appropriate for adult pages and feature colors that work well with both vintage photos and new ones. In addition, these papers are versatile enough to be used for a wide variety of layout ideas. The patterns are such that they would work well with any type layout you chose to do.
For this review, I received two sheets each of Green Wilderness, Solitude, Fireflies, Campfire, Camping phrase, and Camping Tarp. The patterns on these papers range from the nature based background of Green Wilderness to the retro feel of Fireflies, and include several stripped or plaid papers and a phrase page. The colors are fallish with shades of brown, orange, green and yellow. Also included with the papers were two sticker modules. One sheet contains a number of camping phrases that coordinates with the papers. The other is a typical camping sticker sheet with various camping pictures depicted.
For my first project, I used the Solitude and Fireflies papers with a vintage photograph featuring the very first recreational vehicle that my father purchased. The plaid of the Solitude paper and the retro print of the Fireflies paper work coordinate beautifully with the small Polaroid picture of Dad's RV which was taken in the early 1970's. I also used a clear sticker from the sticker sheet as the sub-title of my layout due to it's retro feel.

On the other end of the spectrum, I used the Campfire and Camping Tarp papers to do a much more modern layout featuring a much more modern RV. These papers worked well for a modern layout and are versatile enough to be used with any subject, not just camping. To get the large scalloped circle, I traced the shape on the back of my patterned paper and cut the shape out by hand. Because the paper is light weight, it was easy to do the intricate hand cutting.

The Sandylion papers are fun to use and very versatile. They are useful for all types of camping layouts and are versatile enough to use on many different subject matters. They are also great to use for adult oriented pages which is always a plus. If you have camping pictures to scrap, be sure to give these papers a try.
