Over the years, I have used a variety of cardstocks while scrapbooking and creating altered art projects. Not all cardstock is the same and I definitely look for certain qualities when choosing my cardstock. For instance, I like cardstock to be fairly heavy in weight so it stands up well when used alone or when it's distressed. I also prefer cardstock that has a nice texture, yet still allows for easy journaling, doodling, and photo printing. Of course, being able to pick from a large variety of amazing colors is also a huge plus! This is why I choose to design with Prism Cardstock. It has all the desirable qualities a cardstock should have, new colors and textures are introduced frequently, and the company itself has outstanding customer service! When you spend a considerable amount of time creating projects to preserve your memories, it's important to use high quality materials and cardstock is definitely at the top of the list. Prism's personal slogan is, "Papers for a lifetime", and that is exactly what most papercrafter's are after. We scrapbook because we want to preserve our memories, we want to leave something for our loved ones and future generations to remember us by, we want our creations to last for years to come. In my opinion, Prism cardstock is exceptional and an excellent choice for all papercrafters!

When Prism sent us a box of their new Prismatic colors, I immediately jumped on the chance to review them. For this review I received an amazing box of Prism's newest 12" x 12" cardstock colors in the following: Iced Mint, Frosted Mint, Intense Mint, Classic Magenta, Classic Yellowgreen, Baby Pink Medium, Baby Pink Dark, Iced Azalea, Frosted Azalea, Intense Azalea, Iced Ametheyst, Frosted Amethyst, Intense Amethyst, Baby Blue Dark, Rose Light, Rose Medium, Rose Dark, Crabapple Light, Crabapple Medium, Crabapple Dark, Vibrant Pink, Vibrant Cobalt, and Vibrant Teal.

For me, something about the new Mint trio just screamed fresh...spring...and love, all at the same time! I normally don't find myself using bright green cardstock, however in this case I thought the colors were marvelous. Since they coordinated beautifully with each other, I used all three on my first layout. I used my edge distresser around the edges of the cardstock, and drew a thin line of glitter around the Iced Mint cardstock to help create a frame. I added some stickers, a quote cut from patterned paper, and some green felt embellishments to tie it all together.

The picture I used for my second project is very special to me and I wanted to create a wall hanging for it, so I decided to mount it the layout on cardboard. As soon as I opened my Prism review box, I quickly thumbed through the different colors and the Crabapple cardstock trio was the first to catch my eye! The colors felt so warm and inviting and I knew this would be perfect for the message I wanted to convey with my photo. I used scalloped scissors around three edges of the Crabapple Dark, and tore the bottom edge. I framed the layout using a stardust pen (this is basically like writing with pure glitter), and then added journaling to the cardstock around the picture. When it hits the right light it just sparkles.

One of my favorite things about Prism cardstock, is that you can actually print your photos directly onto the cardstock and they come out beautifully! I have tried printing photos on various textured cardstocks and I always get the cleanest and best quality photo when I print on Prism cardstock. On my third layout, I printed my photo directly on the Iced Amethyst cardstock and then simply trimmed around the top part to create a frame and left the bottom half blank so I could add embellishments. To complete the layout, I simply added a rub-on, some ribbon, sequins, journaling, and a little bling!

I thought all of the new Prism cardstock colors were fabulous! The colors ranged from warm and inviting, to bright, funky, and fun. I thought all of the paper colors coordinated beautifully with black and white and color photos. I love how each sheet has a terrific watercolor texture on the surface which provides an extra touch of dimension to your projects. I still have a large stack of cardstock left over from the review and I'm anxious to use the rest of the marvelous colors. If you are looking for high quality, durable and attractive cardstock to create with, Prism would be my first recommendation!

Prism Cardstock is absolutely one of my favorite products to use when I am scrapbooking. Ever since I was first introduced to Prism Cardstock when I started doing reviews for Scrapfriends, I will only use Prism on the majority of my products. Every time I hear about new colors being released from Prism, I have to honestly say that I get excited. When I heard that the Scrapfriends Review Team was going to receive the newest release of colors, I was very happy! I love playing with Prism Cardstock colors.

The newest colors of Prism Cardstock are bright, fun, and perfectly coordinated for use with each other and all of the previous Prism cardstock colors. The new colors of Prism are available in the traditional Prismatics watercolor texture. By my count, I was sent 23 new colors to review. I also received a new Prismatics Swatchbook so that I can know the names of the newest colors in the line. I love how all of the colors, new and old, look together when the swatchbook is all fanned out. Prism has absolutely the best colors!

I love blue and green combinations. It's no wonder that since I have boys to scrap I use blue and green color combinations quite often. Sometimes, it can get a bit boring looking at layout after layout of muted blues and greens. Two of the newest colors of Prismatics definitely take away the threat of boringness. For the base of my first layout, I used the Baby Blue Dark Cardstock, and I layered Classic Yellowgreen, which is by the way my favorite of all the new colors, on top of it. I wanted to create a classic cartoon themed look for my layout, and I think that using these two colors together definitely went a long way toward doing that.

I recently needed to make a fun card to send with a little gift. Since it was almost St. Patricks Day, I decided to use two different layers of green cardstock for a card with shamrocks. One of the new colors is called Iced Mint, and I love the color mint green. I placed a layer of Classic Yellowgreen on top of that.

On my last project, I noticed that a few of the newest colors would perfectly match some papers that I had sitting on my table from another project. I layered several strips of the Prism Cardstock on top of a patterned paper that I happen to really like but have had a hard time matching in the past. I love the way that these colors combine to create a bright and beautiful layout.

After using the newest colors of Prismatics Cardstock for a few projects, I must say that my opinion of Prism has only gotten better. I love this new line of colors, and I can see how these new colors will only enhance and perfectly coordinate with the colors which are already available in the Prismatics lines. I give Prism Cardstock my highest recommendation. If you haven't tried Prism Cardstock yet, all I can say is "What's wrong with you?" Run out and get some today!

I have to admit that I am a bit of a cardstock snob. There are certain things that I like in my cardstock and quite frankly not every company offers those thing. But I know a secret, there is one company that has everything that I look for and that company is Prism Papers. I want a nice weight, something that can fold easily, and where I want the fold to be. I want a large range of colors and a nice, but not over powering, texture.

Just this season Prism Papers added 25 new spring feeling colors to their lineup. Now I'm in cardstock heaven! This addition of new colors comes at a perfect time, when scrappers are looking forward to warmer weather and spring events. In addition to several new trios of colors, Prism Papers added a classic Magenta that is the perfect shade of dark pink. While the Kraft cardstock is not new to the Prism Papers collection, it was new to me. And I can tell you that this is my new favorite color!

I started with the Kraft cardstock as my base in my first layout. I really wanted something that would be neutral and allow the other colors of cardstock and my photos to shine. I used the new Amethyst papers as my colored cardstock. The photos are matted on Intense Amethyst. This is the darkest of the three Amethyst papers, but it is still light and spring feeling. I used the Frosted Amethyst to stamp my Easter Egg and title on. This is where I feel that texture is a big deal. When you stamp on a paper that has too much texture, your stamped image just doesn't turn out solid. You end up having to turn the paper over to the smooth side. With Prism Papers, you can stamp on the textured side and still get nice stamped images. I used the Iced Amethyst to stamp my journaling block on.

My second most favorite new color is the Azalea color family. I love this set of pinks. They are light and airy. So it was natural to use this color family with pictures of the kids having a tea party. Even though the pink does not match Anna Claire's dress perfectly, it seems to take on the same undertone and blends well. It's simply the most perfect shade of pink in all the Prism Papers line.

I feel very fortunate to be able to work with Prism Papers on a monthly basis. In my eyes they really are the cream of the crop! I feel that I am working with the best cardstock around, and now, with the addition of the new colors they are even better! I know that many people become attached to their cardstock company and don't really want to venture out.

At one point in time, that was me. I didn't want to spend money on something and be disappointed. So I kept on scrapbooking using paper that I had to turn over to the smooth side for stamping. Then I met Prism Paper. From that day until now, it's all I use. I simply can not find a better paper, and honestly I don't want to try! Why try to fix something that isn't broken?

This is my chance to thank Prism Papers for supporting the ScrapFriends Review team and for making my life as a scrapper easier. Thank you Prism Papers for all that you do to bring us the most amazing range in colors and the best cardstock around!

And for those who havent had the pleasure of scrapping with Prism Papers, you have got to try it! You just dont know what you are missing.

Prism Prismatics Cardstock is a high quality heavy weight cardstock that is excellent for scrapbook projects. It has a nice weight, sufficient to serve as a backdrop for your scrapbook creations, regardless of how bulky you scrap. It also comes in numerous colors, making the matching of pictures and patterned paper a breeze. In addition, Prism offers a number of specialty papers including a number of papers from the exclusives line, which have a nice sheen or glitter to them, and several textured papers like pigskin and hoops which match their respective sports balls.

As if all these papers were not enough, Prism has released approximately 25 new shades of its Prismatics papers. For this review, I received two sheets each of the new papers from the line. The names of the papers are too numerous to mention them all. However, I will say that they are some of the most beautiful colors I have ever seen. These new papers have the lightly textured surface that all prismatics have and seem to fill in spots of the already extensive collection of Prism Cardstocks. I especially loved the sherbet colors added to the line as they are fresh and funky, easily matching with most of the patterned papers that I have for my kids.

For my first project, I decided to use several of the yummy sherbet-like colors for a layout about my son. My son is wearing a difficult shade of Teal in the photograph of him playing at the park. However, the new Prism papers had a perfect shade to match his shirt. Teal is such a hard shade to match and I was overjoyed to find that there was a shade to match his shirt.

Chipboard Accent (Scenic Route)
Star Die (Spellbinders Nestabilities)
Alphabet Stickers (Sticko)
Pen (Zig)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Permanent Bond Glue Runner)

For my second project, I used several other shades from the new papers to create a card. I used a new punch to make my border and found the nice weight of the papers an asset when punching out the design. Despite the weight and texture, Prism Cardstock gave a nice clean border punch for the card.

Ribbon (BasicGrey)
Silk Flowers (From Stash)
Chipboard (Portabolia)
Punch (Fiskar Threading Water)

I really enjoy using Prism Cardstocks. I have never been unable to find a color that matches the pictures, papers or elements of my layouts. The quality is phenomenal and can not be beat. The light texture has a high quality look, without being overbearing to the layout and is super easy to write or stamp on. Give Prism Cardstock a try. You will love it.

Cardstock is a "basic supply" when it comes to scrapbooking. When shopping for cardstock, I want something that is sturdy, yet easy to work with; comes in a variety of colors to match my patterned papers and photos; and has a little bit of texture. Would Prism Prismatics cardstock be able to meet all of the demands that I require from this "basic supply"?

With already more than 85 colors to choose from, Prism recently added over 25 "new" colors to their Prismatics collection giving the customer over a 110 great color choices to choose from! The Prism cardstock is very sturdy with a slightly raised texture on one side and smooth on the reverse. The look and feel of Prism brand cardstock made me want to use it right away!

My biggest concern with the Prism Prismatic cardstock was how it would handle going through my printer, and how easy it would cut with my Wishblade. The cardstock I have been using takes at least two passes through my Wishblade in order to get a clean cut and my printer, quite frankly is not all that fond of my cardstock choices either.

While working on another recent project I had the opportunity to find out just how well the Prism Prismatic cardstock would work in my Wishblade. After one pass through the machine, I had a clean, crisply cut title for my layout. I was very pleased!

Now that the Prism Prismatic cardstock had passed the Wishblade test, it was on to see how it would handle being run through my inkjet printer. For this layout I chose to use three new colors (Baby Blue Light, Classic Yellowgreen & Iced Mint) along with Twilight Medium. I printed my journaling on the Iced Mint cardstock and I was once again very pleased with my result. The best part? My printer liked this cardstock too!

Next I decided to tear the left side of the journaling block and was amazed at how easily it tore. Twilight Medium would serve as my photo mat and accent for my title. Machine stitching also worked very well with this cardstock whether it was going through one sheet or several.

Now that Prism had passed my two toughest tests, it would be fun to find out how well it worked with distressing. I cut a scalloped edge from the Birchtone Medium and inked the edge. Then I used a train stamp along each scallop. The stamp impressions were very crisp and clean even though I used the textured side of the cardstock. I punched small circles from the Crabapple Dark (new color) and adhered them to the scalloped edge with eyelets. I also distressed the edges of the Crabapple Dark background mat and the Birchtone Light photo mats. I wanted a border that matched the theme of this page so I stamped this railroad track along a strip of the Brichtone Light. Once again, I was left with clear, crisp impressions and true colors - very impressive! I added ink to all of the edges of my cardstock to complete the vintage look of the layout.

With all of the bright new spring-like colors that Prism has introduced, I just had to create a card with a springtime theme. My favorite color combination is green and pink and when I used the Frosted Mint and Vibrant Pink on this card, I just couldn't help but smile!

Products used: Cardstock (Prism Prismatics, Frosted Mint, Vibrant Pink, & White)

After working with the Prism Prismatic cardstock I don't ever see myself using anything else. The manner in which this cardstock performed with various art forms was exceptional! The variety of colors that are offered will match virtually any color pattern offered on the market today and will leave you with beautifully completed projects.

Did Prism Prismatics pass the test and become my "basic supply" cardstock? You bet! If you haven't tried Prism, then what are you waiting for? In my opinion, you won't find a better cardstock on the market for all of your basic cardstock needs.
