Review by AprilWhat could be better than a company that offers exciting scrapbook products and makes me feel good about spending money? I love trying out new scrapbook supplies, however it would be a little embarrassing if I told you how much I actually spent on scrapbook supplies during the course of a year. Now while I'm not going to offer up how much I spend, I will tell you that when I buy scrapbook products from Prima, I feel good about it! Prima Marketing Inc has been making unique high quality craft and scrapbooking products for several years now and while they continue to grow and experience success, they also continue to give back a portion of their profits to a very reputable charity. Prima proudly supports an organization called HOPE worldwide, and each time we buy a Prima product for our personal stash, we are also helping others.
In the last couple of years, Prima has started focusing more on expanding their product lines to include a ton of fabulous and inspiring products for scrapbookers and paper crafters. At the 2008 winter Craft & Hobby Association show, they introduced several new collections that in my opinion were pure eye candy! The Angelique Collection specifically, caught my eye and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Lucky for me, Prima sent us this gorgeous new collection to review!
I received an Angelique collection paper pack for this review. It consisted of 12 premium 12" x 12" double-sided, acid free cardstock sheets. All of the sheets were heavy in weight, which made them perfect for standing alone, as well as distressing, stitching, painting, and taking overall crafty abuse. Each sheet also has a 1/2" tab across the bottom that lists the name of the paper, what collection it's from, the Prima Donna it was designed by, a bar code, and the Prima Marketing Inc. website address. There were 7 different patterns in all. Six of them were unique and included a mixture of flowers, swirls, cupids, diamond patterns, notebook papers, and text type. The seventh pattern was the coordinating back on all of the sheets. It came in six different colors and a had soft delicate swirl border overlaying a matching text type. The colors in this collection were what I found the most intriguing. Soft, yet vibrant teals, greens and blues mixed with creamy whites, were just half of the color palette. The other half consisted of spectacular pinks in coordinating shades, and a romantic black with an antique feel. All of the colors combined looked stunning and truly made this collection Angelic.
The colors in this collection were absolutely gorgeous and were perfect for a picture I had been saving until I found the right paper to match. I inked the edges of my photos and papers with a brown ink to help them stand out a little. I loved how easy it was to add cool paper embellishments just by cutting out swirls, flowers, etc..from the other papers in the collection. I added a few flowers, some rhinestones, journaling, and a chipboard title. To complete the design, I used a glitter pen to trace over most of the cut out embellishments and all of the swirls in the background paper. This really made the entire layout just shine. It's hard to see it in the complete picture, but you can see a little of the glitter detail in the close up.

When I saw the word "Angel" on the Wings paper, I thought it would be great to work into the title. It took me about two minutes to find the pictures I wanted to scrap for my second project. I had pictures of my daughter playing in the snow earlier this year and I thought the pretty pinks in the Angel Breathe and Wings paper would be perfect for them! Since each paper in the collection is double-sided, I only ended up using two different patterned papers, yet it looked like more because I used both sides of each. I added some wing rub-ons to the Angel Breathe paper and cut them out to adhere behind Charlie. To complete the layout, I added some glitter pen doodling, journaling, and snow dots all over the top of the page using glitter glue.

I honestly thought the papers were so pretty and inspiring that I really just wanted to frame each one as it was and hang it on my wall! For my final project, I punched holes in a large sheet of acrylic, and attached ribbon so it would be easy to hang on the wall. I decorated both sides of the acrylic so I can flip it over whenever I need a little change. The rub-ons were sort of an after thought really...I was so impressed with the papers I mainly just wanted to create an art piece to hang on my scrap room door. I used five of the six papers in the collection and they all coordinated so beautifully! Prima has a variety of new transparent scrapbooking tapes now available and since I just recently bought some, I decided to try it out on this project. I wanted to keep the project simple, so I added flowers, rhinestones, and glitter pen doodling. This project was simple to make and is hanging on my door right now because it makes me happy!

I have worked with various scrapbook collections in the past that I liked, but grown tired of them after using them to create one or two projects. This collection was different for me. I have already made three projects with it and I can't wait to make more. I honestly think I will use every single sheet and scrap I have left. It has such a timeless feel and design that I would even buy the same paper pack again to create with and in a market that is just constantly providing us with new options, that's saying a lot! The quality of the paper is great, the colors work well with both color and black and white photos, and the pattern designs are simple and elegant. All of the papers would be great for cards, layouts, altered projects, and could easily stand alone as art pieces. I think scrapbookers and papercrafters will find this collection enchanting and inspiring!
Review by CatherinePrima Marketing has been very well known in the scrapbooking and paper crafting world in the past few years because of their beautiful and versatile paper flowers. From the very first, scrapbookers have clamored for the lovely flowers that came in great packaging. Prima then began branching out into other areas of the scrapbooking market, with these endeavors seeming to be just as successful as the original flower venture. I have really enjoyed working with a variety of Prima Marketing products, so I was excited to receive a line of papers from Prima called the "Angelique" collection.
The Angelique Collection comes from the Iron Orchid Design line of papers and products from Prima Marketing and is one of their newest releases. Included in the package were twelve sheets of high quality 12" X 12" cardstock; two each of six different patterns. Each of the patterned cardstocks in this collection is double-sided. I love the colors of these papers. In pastel blues, greens, pinks, and maroon these papers are decidedly feminine with the patterns of swirls and flowers adding to that effect. However, because of the amount of blue and green in these papers I was able to scrap boy pages with these products easily.
For my first project, I decided to use the Wings patterned cardstock as the basis for my page. This paper has what looks like a typewritten background, with color and pattern printed on top. There are also distressed larger words blended on top of everything, giving the paper a distressed and artistic look. It was very easy to add just a few details to make the scrapbook page look polished and complete. In addition, I feel like these papers perfectly compliment the photograph.

I love the projects that I have been able to create with the Prima Angelique Collection papers. The patterned cardstock in this collection have a watercolored and distressed look to them, making it possible to create an artistic looking layout with very little effort. Prima's products are always creative, beautiful, and well made. I would recommend the Prima Angelique Collection to anyone.
Review by PennyPrima's Angelique Collection is utterly soft and romantic with its muted colors, swirled borders and its gently distressed appearance. Its green, pink, blue, black and deep red color scheme reminds me of a beautiful springtime day.
I received two sheets each of the six different patterns available. The double-sided cardstock weight papers include "Heavenlies." I used its reverse side (teal with cream colored scroll frame) as my layout background and its front (cream colored scrolls on a faded black background) as accent strips on my first project.

The two other patterns are "Angel Wings," a gorgeous lined page with doodled swirls and flowers. It's a bit shabby and a lot cute! The backside is green with a pale scroll border, and "Cherub," a beautiful red-burgundy sheet with small text as a backdrop to cherub and swirl images. The back side is cream with a red scroll frame. The papers retail for $.80 each.
This collection is rounded out with some tantalizing embellishments including Chipboard Monograms - letters A through Z, numbers 0 - 9 and basic punctuation, Chipboard Journals - a collection of nine journaling tags and a set of quotation marks for you to use, Chipboard Buttons - 49 doodlelicious buttons, Epoxy Stickers - with sayings like "angel," "cherish" and "you give me wings" and small squares numbered 0-9, Ribbons - one yard each of five luscious and elegant ribbons, and Brads - nine large decorative brads in black, teal, red and white patterns. Although these embellishments were not part of my review, I feel they add that extra oomph to your projects and are worth checking out.
Prima delivers a total knockout with its Angelique Collection. It made me feel so energized working with such a lovely mix of colors that aren't toned down by their romantic touches but instead enhanced by them in a most stunning way.
Review by KarenPrima Marketing is known for it's beautiful and innovative flowers, but that isn't all that they produce. My review is all about their new paper line called Angelique. In my kit, I received a package of paper containing 2 sheets of each of the prints in this collection.
Angelique is a unique line in my opinion. It's soft and romantic, however it's not limited to love themes or a vintage feel. The color palette includes pinks, blues, greens and a touch of burgundy and black. There are both graphic hand drawn images as well as papers that are layered images over text. All of the papers are true 12" x 12" and printed on both sides. I found this an asset as I looked through the papers.
In my first layout, I wanted to highlight the word "angel". For years this word has been used by my Mom in reference to my children. She would ask things like "how are Nana's angels". When I came across these photos I knew that the Angelique papers were a perfect way to showcase them. I really loved how easy it was to create a beautiful layout in a short amount of time. I also loved how the punched butterflies looked with both patterns exposed.

For my second layout, I really wanted a paper that had a doodled feeling to it. I used a craft knife and cut out a boarder and added it to the green harlequin paper. I really feel that harlequin papers are so classic and I love the twist on this one! Its green on green with a blue outline! I used the reverse side of the papers to mat my photos and scraps from cutting down my papers for the scalloped pieces.

In working with collection, I am reminded how easy it is to pigeon-hole a manufacturer into only doing one thing. I tend to think flower when I think of Prima, even though they have moved way past just producing flowers. I think this is a pitfall of scrappers, we forget or don't know that a company makes something different. I am so happy to be a part of this review and that I am able to show a side of Prima that I didn't know was there.
With a timeless feel, and a touch of today, the Angelique Collection is a beautiful addition to my scrapping supplies. I love the quality of these papers as well as the designs. I know that I am getting a great value for my money in this paper pack because of the double-sided feature to the papers. It's interesting to see how easy it was to used these papers for two totally different themes, one of love and the other is travel.
I'm excited that I was given the chance to create projects that I love with products that blew me away. Thank you Prima for creating this line and showing me such a beautiful side to your products. I look forward to working with more Prima Marketing papers in the future and recommend that you get your hands on some soon.
Review by TammyWhen someone mentions Prima, I immediately think of flowers but today this company offers everything a scrapbooker or altered artist would need, including the flowers.
Prima Marketing Inc. has recently introduced a new line of beautiful cardstock and coordinating embellishments called Angelique, created by Iron Orchid Designs. For this review I received 12 sheets of 12 x 12-inch cardstock in 6 different patterns with coordinating backs. The colors were most inviting; the soft pinks, blues, and greens mixed with contrasting burgundy and black; make this collection very versatile to work with.
Springtime in Texas always brings a vast array of color and beauty to our roadsides, parks, and even our own backyard. The Angelique collection, specifically Wings, would provide the perfect backdrop for my wildflowers photos I took in our back pasture. I used a colored pencil to highlight a few of the swirl designs and used chalk to highlight the roses. By cutting around a few of the swirls I was then able to tuck the photos and journaling block behind the design which gives the illusion that the pattern and the photos are one. For a final touch I added some silver Luster Metallic Rub-ons to the edge of the paper which enhanced the softness of the design.

When I first glanced at the patterns in this collection I knew that I wanted to use Angel Kisses. I loved the colors used in the floral and swirl pattern and how it framed the lined paper. My initial thought was to use the lines to create a page with a lot of journaling but as I began to work with the design I really wanted to place more emphasis on the pattern which framed the page. I used the burgundy side of Angel Breath to create the vertical strip and tucked it behind the floral frame after I had cut around the design with an Exacto knife. I also used the backside of the second sheet of Angel Kisses for the torn green horizontal photo mat and tucked it behind the design as well. After adding some black and red Luster Metallic Rub-ons around the edge of the cardstock; placing a large flower in the lower corner; and a title across the top, my page was complete!

Once I began to work with the design provided on the cardstock I found that it took me no time at all to create these two pages which I am very proud to display. I actually spent more time printing out photos and the journaling than I did designing the page because the majority of the work had been done by Iron Orchid Designs.
The new Angelique collection from Prima Marketing Inc. is just as beautiful and inspiring as it's name and is sure to add romance, peace and beauty to whatever project you create. I highly recommend that add this collection to your scrapbooking shopping list!
