Unlike the paint chips that you find in the painting sections of the hardware store, these Paint Stripz
from PM Designs are acid and lignin free. They are also a full twelve inches in length allowing for the
use across a full scrapbooking page as in this layout about one of my adult daughters and her first
Christmas tree of her very own.

Review by SarahPaint Stripz by PM Designs: Convenient Color and More!
Paint Stripz are the archival-safe version of “paint chips”-- those sample papers offered at hardware stores that indicate custom paint tints -- which recently made their splash in the world of scrapbooking fads.
Paint Stripz are available in monochromatic and mulit-colored designs. Monochromatic designs fade one color from dark to light, while multi-colored pieces offer different colored sections on one strip. They do no not have writing or code numbers on the blocks of color, like “real” paint sample strips. Better yet, PM Designs Paint Stripz are acid/lignin free, and measure a full two inches by twelve inches. And it’s really twelve inches! This makes them incredibly easy for use as borders of all types on full-size layouts, as well as offering plenty of play space for cutting and making smaller designs.
These strips proved to become my favorite product from PM Designs. Their standard sizing makes them a snap to use; their prominent colors easily make them fundamental building blocks to any page or project; and they are simple to alter and embellish.
On this project, I used a multi-colored Paint Stripz as part of a collage. I distress inked the strip to coordinate it with the look of the page. I really like how it helps pull together so many different colors, textures, and shapes; and the diagonal placement helps guide the eye to the focal picture.

I really loved Paint Stripz. I used them on several projects other than this one for the review! I have added pictures of two of these below, to offer more ideas for use of these fun, convenient page additions.
I sanded the Paint Stripz using PM Designs Scrapper’s Block. This muted
the color which was too bright for the portrait. I then applied VersaMark
and sparkling embossing powder to complete the Paint Stripz look! It was
fun and it has such a unique look.

Listed retail price is $4.99 for a set of ten strips. Personally, I am very glad to see a commercial “paint chip” available to the scrapbooking world. Not only do they offer terrific advantages such as size and archive-quality, but I hope that they will defer some of the imposition the “paint chip” craze has placed on hardware stores that have lost plenty of sample strips without an increase in paint sales (a trend I fear may cause stores to start charging for “paint chip” sample strips).
In Summary: Paint Stripz are archival-quality, colorful and unique, and come in a convenient size for scrapbooking. Easy to use, fun to alter, and reasonably priced, Paint Stripz are sure to add just the right touch of convenient color to your pages! Highly recommended.
Review by RachelI was thrilled when I saw that PM Designs had sent us these very cool items. PM Designs sent a 10 piece variety pack of the Paint Stripz. I received the Tropical colors. I had so much fun using these and my layouts and cards came together so quickly when using these Paint Stripz.
These Paint Stripz were the perfect embellishment for some snow pictures that I hadn’t scrapped yet. The Fuschia and Purple Paint Stripz were just what I needed. I used the Paint Stripz under my titles on the following layout.

Review by CathyPM Desings has Paint Stripz packaged in groups of 10 colors. Paint Stripz from PM Design are acid and lignin free. I reviewed the tropical pack. The Paint stripz are 12 inches long, so they fit a 12x12 page perfectly. The blocks of color on a paint strip are separated with a narrow band of white and have monochromatic graduated color blocks that start as pastels on one side and gradually increase in color. The tropical pack also included a multi-colored strip with teal, pink and purple blocks. My first example is a monochromatic purple strip, it was easy to distress with the PM Design Scrapper's Block.

The Paint Stripz from PM Design come in a large variety of colors. They are an inexpensive accent (about 50 cents for a 12x12 layout or 25 cents for a 6x6 layout). Paint Stripz can be used as a border , a page accent, to make tags, journaling boxes or greeting cards. They are made from acid and lignin free paper, so they are safe for your photos. I really like the distressed paint stripz look and I will recommend these for purchase for your projects.
Review by KathleenThe Paint Stripz package from PM Designs is a neat take on the paint strips that many of us have found in the local hardware store. PM Designs offers a package of 10 – 12 inch strips in a variety of colors. PM Designs offers 40 colors and four variety packs. I received the Tropical Variety Pack.
I like the Paint Stripz. I thought the colors were beautiful and there was a nice array of colors. The Tropical Variety Pack offers soft blues, greens, pinks, and yellows.
My first project using the Paint Stripz from PM Designs uses the Fuchsia colored strip. I first used the Scrapper’s Block from PM Designs to distress it and then I inked the edges. I also used rub on words to give it the look similar to the paint colors you would find on paint strips from the hardware store.

SEI – patterned paper
Nostalgiques – Destinations paper clips
Provo Craf-T – Memory rub ons

My second project uses the Kiwi Monochromatic strip. I first distressed
the piece with the Scrapper’s Block and walnut ink. Then I cut a 5 ½ inch
length piece and cut that piece in half length wise. I used the two pieces
as borders for a Christmas card. Finally, I adorned the Christmas card with
some stickers and wire.

PM Designs – Paint Stripz, Scrapper’s Block
Jo-Ann Scrap Essentials – stickers
Creek Bank – Liquid Walnut Ink Bazzill Basics – textured cardstock
Adhesive Tech – Glue runner

In summary, I would say the Paint Stripz by PM Designs are fun to work with.
They are colorful and versatile for both cards and scrapbook layouts. While
some may wonder why they should buy this product when they can get paint
strips at the local hardware store, the Paint Stripz do come in 12 inch
lengths making them perfect for borders and titles for those who scrapbook
in 12x12. They also come free of any wording making it easier for you to
embellish your project without worrying about a paint color hindering your
masterpiece.
