Lynn Anne Cutler

Hi! My name is Lynn Anne Cutler, and I’m known on Scrap Friends as “StampMe.” I am very happy to be able to share my love of scrapping, stamping, and all-things-papercrafting with my fellow Scrap Friends!

I live in the only county in New Jersey to be classified as ‘rural’, though I would describe my neighborhood more as a ‘rural-ish suburb’. I have been married to IanMatthew for six years. I am mama to five-year-old Ralph, three-year-old Kaycie, and our March 2008 arrival, baby Franklin.

My mother gave me a scrapbooking ‘kit’ – album, stickers, cardstock and decorative scissors - for my birthday seven or so years ago. I completed two pages, admired them, then put the kit in a closet and forgot about it for a while. Then, a few months before my son was born, a friend invited me to a home scrapbooking party. I became an instant addict! I had always catalogued my life in photo albums, even ‘journaling’ in the later ones (though I didn’t know there was a name for what I was doing). Now I saw how I could not only be creative with my photography, but with my storytelling and page design as well. I was especially grateful to be introduced to scrapbooks before the baby photos started accumulating. I had just enough time to get my feet wet, pick out an album (and five gift albums for relatives!) and figure out what I was doing before baby came. I’ve been scrapping nonstop ever since. I began using rubber stamps after being invited to another home party (I love direct sales companies!) several months later. Now I’m always looking for more ways to incorporate stamps and stamping techniques into my projects.

Before papercrafting, my main artistic love was recreating medieval manuscript pages. I’ve enjoyed using some of the same techniques and materials in my scrapbooks, albeit with a more modern bent! My pages center around family events, my children, religious observance, and layouts that preserve our family history.

Before mothering, I worked full-time as an elementary school teacher in the middle-school grades, and as a Hebrew School teacher. I now teach on an as-needed basis for local community groups or scrapbook stores, and occasionally as a substitute teacher in local elementary school, in addition to my design work.
