The Junkitz Zipper Pulls are fun little embellishments and retail for approximately $1.00 per pull coming in packages of four per themed set. As their name implies, you may use them on the Junkitz Zippers for embellishments or in numerous other ways. I chose to use mine on fibers and on tags. For a small embellishment, they add a lot of texture, dimension and interest.

I LOVE the zoo and do a LOT of zoo layouts, so I was really happy to receive the Zoo theme Zipper Pulls.

Junkitz Zipper Pulls: My Mini Coloring Book.

Junkitz Zipper Pulls are quarter-sized tokens imprinted with detailed images of a variety of objects ranging from baby footprints to Jack-o-lanterns. They are high quality plastic embellishments on which Junkitz has paid attention to the details: the edges of the pieces have a black stripe and white stripe, as if the piece were made in layers. I particularly like the stripe around the outside edge because it looks professional and more dimensional than if the token had been made of one solid color. They come in a pack of four retailing at about $3.99.

I received the Zoo set of Zipper Pulls. This set features four tokens imprinted in black with an elephant, a giraffe, a lion and a tiger. At first I thought these would be a lot of fun to work with. Then I got them out of the package, and the more I looked at them, the more I wondered what I was going to do with all-white charms.

Zipper Pulls really helped get my creative thoughts flowing because of their achromatic colors. I chose to use them on a page about my son’s first trip to the zoo. The pictures from this outing had been taken on two different cameras – one with black-and-white film and one with color – so I had quite an interesting variety of pictures.

The Zipper Pulls would have coordinated nicely with the black-and-whites, but I wanted them to look less stark than their original all-white with black imprinting. I was surprised and pleased to find that I was able to brush on chalks to color the animals. The plastic does soak up the color, so use a color you are sure to like. Use an applicator such as Craf-T Pudgy Chalk Applicator to apply color just to the animals – or to the entire token. I applied the chalk too thickly and brushed it away with a dry cloth for best coloring results. If you have rubbed in too much color, most or all of it may be removed by scrubbing with a baby wipe, depending on the detail of the imprinting (the tiger had lots of imprinted stripes, so I couldn’t get much color out of this one once it had been applied; while the lion had smooth sides and I was able to remove almost all of the coloring).

I used the holes in the Zipper Pulls for stitching novelty fibers through. I like how the combination of black fibers and multi-colored fibers bring out both the original Zipper Pulls imprinting and the chalk coloring I added.

In Summary: Junkitz Zipper Pulls are a nice addition whether left plain or made into your own "mini coloring book." They are professional looking, but a little high priced. Still, I would recommend this product.

I was so excited to see the Zipper Pulls from Junkitz. I have always loved the look of Junkitz products and their products have produced much drool to the point of almost shorting out my keyboard. Junkitz sent us one package of zipper pulls. My package included 4 different designs and two different colors of Zipper Pulls. I was so excited to see the Baby Boy set that I received. Our family was blessed about a month ago with our first nephew. I have been needing to make a special gift for my sister and needed that perfect embellishment to set off the page. The Zipper Pulls were that embellishment. They are so fun and easy to use. They are also so versatile and can be used on anything from a card to a layout. When I received mine, I had one that was broke but it was so easy to fix. I just put some clear drying glue on it and held the pieces together for about a minute. Viola! It was perfect and you couldn’t even tell it had been broken. I recommend this product for beginners to experts alike. They make your layouts so fast and easy and add dimension to your layouts without adding a lot of bulk.

Junkitz Zipper Pulls are white (round or square) plastic white buttons with a single hole in the top. Zipper Pulls have a design or phrase on one side printed in black or pastels and the other side is completely blank. Junkitz Zipper Pulls come in packages of four with themes including: Birthday, Graduation, Baby, Sports, Holidays, Travel, Dogs and Blank. I received a package of white Graduation Pulls.

Junkitz products are new and innovative. I was impressed by the quality of the Graduation Pulls. They are a glossy white color, with the designs engraved into the top and colored back. The side of the Zipper Pull is striped black also. White is associated with Nursing, and my first example is a layout about my nursing school memories. On page one; I used my senior portrait with a Zipper Pull on the upper left hand corner and a little button alphabet lettering to match. The Zipper Pull and the letters share the same mini ribbon tie.

On page two, I mounted the Zipper Pulls on pop dots and tied them with matching ribbon. The black and white ribbon works great. The middle Zipper Pull has tiny brad numbers for the year I graduated.

Zipper Pulls can be used as above in their original white or they can be altered by using transparencies, vellum overlays, stickers, sticky tape with beading, sand or glitter. The Zipper Pulls can be colored with markers, stamps, ink or paint. The potential for these Zipper Pulls goes beyond hanging from a zipper, to hanging with wire, a brad, thread or ribbon. They can be strung together or used alone. I was very impressed with all of the possibilities and did try out many of the above techniques with the Junkitz License Plates. I would definitely recommend these Zipper Pulls for scrapbooking, card making or crafts.

I received a package of four Junkitz Zipper Pulls with a beach theme. I was ecstatic because I have tons of beach pictures! My first thoughts were how they would make adorable tags and I was impressed by the craftsmanship. They are a nice, sturdy embellishment. There is some dimension to them but not so much as to cause a lot of bulk on your pages. The feel and texture is smooth, similar to that of a domino.

Since there were only four Junkitz Zipper Pulls, I decided to use them on one layout, creating a border along the right side of the page. I chose my paper and fibers to coordinate with my picture and created the following layout:

‘Ocean Memories’

Products used:
Junkitz : Beach themed Zipper Pulls
Bazzill Basics : textured cardstock
Close To My Heart : Footprint stamp, Alphabet (Ocean) stamps, upper and lower case
Versamark : watermarking ink
Color Box : Fluid chalk ink
Making Memories : Word rub-on (Memories)
Other : fiber, micro 05-black

To further enhance the layout and carry the "beach" theme to the other side of the page, I created footprints along the lower left corner using watermarking ink.

This layout is right up my ally. It is simple, clean, and beautiful. The embellishments by Junkitz set the page off without taking away from the photo.

I really like using the Junkitz Zipper Pulls and would definitely use them again. And while I used fibers with mine, there are other uses too. You can use Junkitz Zipper Pulls on zippers, with wire, or mini brads. You could also attach them to a metal rimmed tag. There are many possibilities, but the final point is that you will enjoy using these embellishments too!
