Review by Randi
License Plates come in sets of twelve. The set I received had a New Year theme. These are plain enough
to use on any layout. They were just what I needed on this layout about my goals for 2005. The large tags swing up and out of the
way to read the goals underneath.

Moments in Time paper: Sandy Lion
Beige, brown cardstock
License Plates: Junkitz
Stickers: Sandylion
Sweet Pea Jack letter stickers: Basic Gray
Chalks: Craf-T
Glue Runner: Adhesive Tech
My second layout is about a New Year's Day party that I attended. The license plates are dangled from
metallic embroidery floss.

Vellum quote: A merry heart doeth
good Like a medicine. Proverbs 17:22
All papers: Christmas Stack, DCWV
License Plates: Junkitz
Vellum Scripture Quote: DCWV
Silver Metal Rim Tags: JoAnn ScrapEssentials
Metal Word Tags: JoAnn Essentials
Blue Tinsel: Magic Scraps
Blue sparkle floss
Fiber
Heart Brads: JoAnn Scrap Essentials
Glue Runner: Adhesive Tech
A Fine Line glue: Adhesive Tech
These were an easy embellishment, but at nearly a dollar a piece, a little pricey.
Review by SarahJunkitz License Plates: Too Bland
Junkitz License Plates are cute, rectangular tiles imprinted with words corresponding to a theme: themes such as "Christmas," "Valentine" and "Wedding." The word choices seem somewhat unoriginal, but maybe "general-purpose" would be more succinct. The tiles are plain white with black lettering and black edging, and have a hole at each of the upper corners. Because of this neutral color scheme, the License Plates really go with anything.
On the other hand, they really don’t have any significant features to make them distinctive.
License Plates are definitely high-quality products. The tiles are sturdy but not too thick. It’s just that when I shop for a pre-made embellishment, I want something unique; something defining: something that will inspire and really "set off" the page.
I found Junkitz License Plates lacking in the inspiration department. Instead of giving me a great idea I could run with, I really had to work in thinking up my own design, and I had to work extra hard to think of a design that wouldn’t overwhelm the rather non-committal License Plates. On my page pictured below, you will notice that the only distinctive features about the page are the teal colored embellishment additions!
Paper: White cardstock painted
with Lumiere Paint
Paper Adventures (Diamond Dust: Licorice)
White Sparkle Vellum
Lettering: Architexture (Chic
Sketch Rub On Letters)
Stickabilities (GUTS ¾" Sticker Letters)
Close To My Heart (Believe Uppercase Letters)
Embellishments: Junkitz (License
Plates: Months)
ClearEnvelopes.com (Envelope)
Fiber Accents (Turguoise [sp] #1, #5, #6)
Jo-Ann Scrap Essentials (Teal Mini Brads)
Flower Beads
Color and Supplies: Jacquard
(Lumiere Paint: Pearl White)
Loew-Cornell (3/4" Flat Tip Paintbrush)
Memories (Dye Ink Pad: Black)
Adhesive Tech (Permanent Glue Runner)
ZIG (Millennium Pen)
At a whopping $9.99 retail price for a packet of 12 tiles, I feel that Junkitz License Plates really are not worth it.
In Summary: Even though it is a high-quality product, Junkitz License Plates simply do not offer enough inspiration or uniqueness to justify the expense.
Review by RachelFour days before I received these license plates from Junkitz, my brother, Ben, and his fiancé asked me to scrapbook their wedding album. I am so honored that they want me to do this for them. My brother is in the Army and stationed in Iraq. He has been gone since March and we all miss him terribly. We found out about that he was getting a two week rest and relaxation leave in December. We weren’t sure of the date at all but we instantly started planning a wedding. So when I received the package of Wedding License Plates from Junkitz; I was thrilled. These license plates come in packages of 12 and contain such sayings as: "The Honeymoon", "The Ring", "The Kiss" and many others. The license plates that I received are white with a black outline and black writing. They are classy and elegant. They are very simple to use and add dimension to your layout without adding a whole lot of bulk. I loved them. These license plates were the perfect embellishments to the very elegant but simple album they are wanting to achieve.
My brother and his fiancé were married on December 4th. We are thrilled to have a new sister and niece join our family. I was asked to have some pages done by the time Ben had to leave to go back to Iraq. He wanted to get some color copies made to take back to Iraq and show his buddies and keep in his room.

The license plates were the perfect embellishment for their album. They are easy to use on cards and layouts. I would recommend these products to everyone. The beginner will find the perfect inspiration and the experts will find them the perfect embellishment to make the perfect album.
Review by CathyJunkitz License Plates are little rectangular, plastic, white plaques that have a hole in the upper corners. The License Plates come in sets of twelve with topics including: Back to School, Seasons, Halloween, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day and more. They also have blank ones in sets of 12. The themed phrases are engraved and colored black to stand out against the white background. I had so much fun with these License Plates. I can see these are going to be a fun favorite of mine.

To sand the finish off of the License Plate, use sandpaper and rub the top until the glossy finish is eliminated.

. The License Plate can then be chalked, colored with markers or embossed. The above example has green marker applied and wiped with a tissue to give a rustic look. Notice that the engraved Writing is still very clear.
The following is a sample of some of the finishes that can be completed easily:

To make the first License Plate: "School Days" you will need the following:

Junkitz License Plates, Sand Paper, Marker, Embossing Powder (Clear) and a Heat Tool for Embossing.
Follow the steps below :
1. Sand the License Plate until the glossy finish is diminished.
2. Apply color with marker
3. Apply embossing Ink by pressing License Plate into ink pad
4. Sprinkle clear embossing powder and shake off the excess
5. Using the heat tool, seal finish
To make sample two, the "sparkle finish" these supplies are needed:

Junkitz License Plates; Sandpaper; Red Marker; Red Glitter Embossing Powder; and a Heat Tool
Follow these Steps :
1. Sand the finish slightly
2. Color with Marker
3. Apply Embossing Ink by pressing License Plate on Ink Pad
4. Sprinkle with Embossing Powder and shake off the excess
5. Using heat tool, seal finish
To make sample three the following supplies are required:

Junkitz License Plates, sandpaper, Acrylic Paint.
First Sand the finish slightly and apply the paint.
My first project sample is a scrapbook layout "TOM SAWYER" using the school play license plate.

The license plate is colored with a marker and embossed. The License Plate is hung from a die cut by Yellow DMC Floss.
My second example is a BACK TO SCHOOL LAYOUT using The Junkitz School set. The plates are embossed as described above.

Page one features two embossed license plates sewn onto layout with DMC Embroidery Floss. TIP: to sew a license plate to a layout, use a push pin or a paper piercer to make holes for the needle to go through easily.

Page Two features another two embossed license plates, notice the rich color. The License Plate in the lower right hand corner is attached with mini brads and makes for a clipboard – like journaling box.

My third project sample is a WINTER GREETING CARD, the snowflakes hang by fiber from the upside down sparkle plaque.

The Junkitz License Plates may seem plain to you at first, but they are blank canvases perfect for almost any theme. I recommend the license plates very highly and will continue to use them on my layouts. Please post your layouts with Junkitz Products in the gallery and post a link in the forum. I would love to see your ideas.
Review by KathleenI received a package of Junkitz License Plates to work with. The package had a 4th of July/ Patriotic theme. I was thrilled with this product from the get go because about a dozen layout ideas came into my head. Patriotic themed pictures are not in short supply in my household. As with the Junkitz Zipper Pulls, I was impressed by the craftsmanship. They are about 1 inch by ½ inch and have a nice smooth texture. Each License Plate has a hole in each top corner for threading fiber or wire. I was also pleased to find twelve License Plates in one package.
For this review, I created two layouts. The first layout I chose two of the License Plates tags reading "Proud" and "Proud to be an American." I embellished each License Plate with metallic rub-on and stamping ink. I used the “Proud to be an American” License Plate in the place of a title. I then used the “Proud” License Plate to embellish the photograph.

‘Proud to be an American’
Products used:
Junkitz – Patriotic themed License Plates
Bazzill Basics – textured cardstock
Daisy D’s – America patterned paper
K & Co. – Script patterned paper
Color Box – Fluid chalk ink
Craf-T – Metallic Run-on
Kathleen Campos – photograph
My second layout again used two of the Junkitz License Plates. I chose photographs
taken on the 4th of July to go with the "Our Little Firecracker" and "Fireworks"
License Plates. I placed the "Fireworks" License Plate next to pictures
of the fireworks taken that night and the "Our Little Firecracker" next
to the picture of my daughter. I chose to leave these License Plates unembellished.

‘Our Little Firecracker’
Products used:
Junkitz – Patriotic themed License Plates
Bazzill Basics – textured cardstock
K & Co. –patterned paper
Color Box – Fluid chalk ink
Kathleen Campos – photographs
Other – Micron 05 –black, 3-D foam tape
I am really impressed with the Junkitz License Plates in general. If I were
to change anything, I would offer the embellishments in a larger size and
offer them without the holes. Though I like the idea that I can use fiber
with these embellishments, the holes are small and difficult to string fiber
through. Also, since I ended up not using fiber with mine, I was stuck with
holes when I would rather there not have been any. However, I still really
liked this product and will definitely use them again. I look forward to
finding some of the other themes available. I also think these would be
great for cards and tags due to their smaller size.
