When I received the products for this review, it was the first time I had seen Imaginisce products up close and personal. I liked what I saw! For this first review for Imaginisce we worked with the "Let's Pretend" collection. While there are many different papers and embellishments within this collection, for me specifically this meant the "Ball Boy" and "Girl Power" papers along with Banana Peel Yellow Itsy Bitsy Bling, (small jewel-like flowers) Border Bouquet Rub-Ons, and Tink Pink Itty Bitty Blossoms.

I loved the bright, bold colors of the papers. While the "Ball Boy" paper was great for this layout about my grandson, it could be equally as good used in a layout about a girl or pet. On the reverse side of this heavy-weight paper was a small orange pattern giving additional options for its use. The Itsy Bitsy Bling gives a splash of WOW without a lot of weight or bulk. I loved these little embellishments!

Perfect
Let's Pretend, Ball Boy paper, Imaginisce
Let's Pretend, Banana Peel Yellow Itsy Bitsy Bling, Imaginisce
Let's Pretend, Border Bouquet Rub-Ons, Imaginisce
Verdone Exclusives Cardstock, Prism Papers
Classic Blue Prismatics Cardstock, Prism Papers
Paper Treats White Alphabet Epoxy Stickers, Around the Block
White Gel Pen, Uni-ball Signo
Permanent Bond Glue Runner, Adhesive Tech

The "Girl Power" paper proved to be just what I needed for this layout about creating paper flowers while on a museum trip. The reverse side of this paper was an orange circle pattern. I used the rub-ons over white cardstock to tone down the vibrant pattern just a bit. The rub-ons were easy to apply and went on smoothly.

Let's Pretend, Border Bouquet Rub-Ons, Imaginisce
Verde and Bianco Exclusives Cardstock, Prism Papers
Glossy Green Squeeze Art Paint, Krylon
Ric Rac, Tie One On Ribbon Club
Permanent Bond Glue Runner, Adhesive Tech

The Itty Bitty Blossoms carried the Bazzill label, and the set consisted of 18 small-sized silk flowers. While I found them (and their screw top container they came in) to be just darling, alas, the Tink Pink just didn't seem to coordinate well with the papers that I was sent.

I really enjoyed working with these Imaginisce products, and look forward to seeing more from this company. Check them out soon!

Imaginisce has such a great sense of FUN behind their products, especially the Let's Pretend Collection. Included in our review package was a catalog of their newest products explaining this collection as inspired by: "cartwheels, chalk, eensy-weensy spider, copycats, brownies, ladybugs" and about 50 other things. What comes to mind when reading those inspiring words? Something with some whimsy, bright and youthful? You're right on the button (brad) because the patterned papers, rub-ons, flowers and brads all have bright colors and patterns for some FUN layouts.

The patterned paper is double-sided with patterns on both sides. It is 12" x 12" and heavy weight with a white core. The colors are bright tones of blue, green, yellow and red with some dark brown thrown in as a neutral color. The patterns are mostly full of stripes and flowers with some paisley, stars and diamonds through out with no distressed characteristics. One of the patterns on the sheet is a more subtle or simple pattern with the other side being more bold and random. The hardest part is deciding which side to use!

The embellishments are complementary to any of the patterned papers. The rub-ons are full-color on a 5" x 8 1/2" sheet. The rub-ons match the patterns in the paper in design and color. The button brads are Bazzill-inspired and number 8 per package. There are 2 sizes of the corduroy covered brads, yes corduroy! Talk about some fun texture! The flowers are just as much fun as the brads, being Bazzill-inspired too. These "Itty Bitty Blossoms" number 18 pieces to the small round screw-top plastic holder and come in single-color packs. Just the right touch to any project.

Speaking of projects, my first layout uses the beautiful "Paisley Picnic" paper showcasing elegant paisley patterns overflowing with simple multi-colored flowers. The dark brown background is just perfect for the casual elegance in the pattern. I used the rub-ons for embellishment on the pages, finding them very easy to apply. There was no tearing or sticking to the wrong area. Once applied to the paper, the designs all remained in that spot. I thought the colors were fantastic and vibrant just like the patterned paper. I trimmed out a large paisley to place under the title for some added dimension. I really thought the mix of solid colored cardstock and the Paisley Picnic paper made this layout really stand out.

Patterned Paper (Imaginisce Let's Pretend: Paisley Picnic)

Title Letters (L'il Davis)
Journaling Stamp (Autumn Leaves)
Punches (EK Success)
Ink (Stampin' Up! Basic Brown)
Sketch (Blueprints2 #38)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Permanent Bond Glue Runner)

I used both patterned paper designs that I received for this page. The green pattern is on the backside of the paisley and the yellow diamonds are on the back of the flower print called "Tea Party". The flowers were colored with paint to match the patterns better. The paper was easy to trim into a scallop shape using a Notch Tool. The paper also took a stamped image well with the ink not smearing or smudging at all. The paper has a smooth surface, so the impression is clear.

I really enjoyed working with the Let's Pretend Collection with it's whimsy and bright colors. The paper is nice and thick, working well during trimming and stamping. The rub-ons were really great! Very easy to apply and the colors are so vibrant that you may forget they are a rub-on instead of a sticker. The flowers and brads are great additions to the embellishment line. They definitely make a good choice when adding dimension is the goal. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase additional pieces to this collection and to even branch out into Imaginisce's other collections. Let Imaginisce expand your creativity and scrapping fun time!

Review by Catherine

Imaginisce is a new manufacturing company that burst onto the scrapbooking scene recently with fun, bright papers and interesting products. I was able to work with Imaginisce products in the past with products from their Exotic East line, and I was pleased with the resulting pages that I created. This is another company that I can see going very far in the scrapbooking industry, and I was pleased to hear that we would be reviewing their newest products.

I was sent products from the “Let’s Pretend” line for this review. These papers are absolutely perfect for kid related layouts and projects. I received two each of two different patterned papers: Ball Boy and Girl Power. I also received Squishy Shapes – Stars and Circles, First Day of School Ribbons, and Spaceman to the Rescue Rubons. I love the names of the products, and I loved the way they jumped right out at me when I opened my package. I was impressed with the papers as well as all of the coordinating embellishments that were sent.

For my first project, I wanted to scrap a picture of my sister and my niece. I have used this picture on a project in the past for a gift, but haven’t found the right papers to use for a layout. When I saw the Girl Power paper, with its bright, colorful flowers I knew I had found the perfect paper to use for this picture. I love the color combinations on this paper. Mostly orange, red, and blue with funky, hand-drawn looking flowers, this paper is perfect for girlie layouts! The fact that it is double-sided makes it even better. I also used a couple of the rub-ons for the Let’s Pretend line. I’ve encountered rub-ons in the past that were hard to rub onto the paper, cracked, or just didn’t work as intended. I did not have any of those problems with the rub-ons from Imaginisce. They rubbed on smoothly, beautifully, and they are stuck in place very well.

For my second layout, I decided to use the Ball Boy paper as the starting point for my page. This paper is perfect for boy themed layouts. The background of the paper is a deep brown, with mostly primary colored circles printed on it. The variety of different types of circles on the paper is what makes it the most interesting, I believe. I can see myself using this paper on a variety of different layouts for my boys. I also used the Squishy Shapes, which are really just big rubber buttons, on the layout as well. While I love the way these look, I had a really hard time figuring out how to make them stick to the page. The adhesive that they were stuck to the packaging card with stayed on the packaging card. I tried glue dots, liquid glue, and an adhesive runner on the back of the shapes to no avail. I finally tried some red-lined tape and they seem to be staying. Again, I really like the fun, whimsical look they lend to the project.

I have truly enjoyed using the Let’s Pretend products from Imaginisce for this review. These papers are perfect for kid related layouts. The colors are bright, the quality is great, and the website is just a fun place to check out. If you haven’t heard of Imaginisce yet, now is the time to try out some of their products. I am sure you will enjoy using them as much as I have.

Imagin what? Imaginisce is one of the new comers to the scrapbook market. Only a few years old and they are a force to be reckoned with. With playful patterns and dressed up accessories, Imaginisce has all the bases covered.

In my packet I received papers and accessories from the “Let’s Pretend” collection. The patterns include stars, stripes, dots and flowers, all the patterns of childhood. The colors are bright and bold, but not overpowering. The paper is cardstock weight and double sided. The accessories I received were brads, flowers and jewels. The brads are called “Who’s got the Button?” and are covered with corduroy. They are adorable!

One thing that really impresses me about this company is how they have created a niche for themselves. In my packet, along with my supplies, Imaginisce included a catalog. I have to tell you that this is a company to look for! Every collection in the catalog is amazing. Bold colors and innovative patterns abound. And the embellishments are STUNNING. For example, the Chiquita Charms are beautiful. Just what are Chiquita Charms? Well they remind me of antique broaches. Each one would make a beautiful addition to any page.

My first layout uses the Tea Party paper. I love the bright flower pattern on this paper. And the yellow gingham print on the back is equally wonderful. I felt these papers were perfect for pictures from Disney. I added the “Itsy Bitsy Bling” flowers to the corners of two of my pictures.

My second project is a travel journal. I coved manila envelopes with “Baseball Diamonds” paper. I used the Zutter Bind it all to add the spine. For interest I added the “Itty Bitty Blossoms”. I can’t wait to carry this with me on our trip.

I am so excited that I had the chance to work with the Imaginsice products. This was my first time to see them in person. I have to say that they blew me away. Innovative, creative and unusual these products really sparked my imagination! I will defiantly be on the look out for the products that I did not receive for my review.

I love having the perfect paper to go with the project I am working on. Imaginisce has created papers and embellishments that complement so many different photos. It’s not a hard thing to recommend this company, their products are wonderful. I look forward to the next time I am able to work with Imaginisce. In the mean time, out of my way… I need some more!

If you are looking for bright, eye catching color Imaginisce has you covered. Imaginisce is a new name to me so I was excited to see and work with their products. I had NO idea how to even say this word they use for their company name. So I dug a little further and looked up some things. I found it is pronounced: Im-aj'-e-nis. They came up with this by combining the words Imagine + Reminisce = IMAGINISCE. As colorful and brilliant as these products are, I would have never thought a man who is color blind started the company!

For this review I was given 2 sheets of the Baseball Diamonds and Ka-Pow! patterned papers from the "Let's Pretend" Collection, along with Itsy Bitsy Bling, Itty Bitty Blossoms, and Who's Got the Button? This Let's Pretend Collection line was inspired from Cartwheels, chalk, eensy-weensy spider, report cards, tag you’re it, strollers, cheerios, binkies, care bears, ice cream, sandbox. All the fun things I remember from my childhood. I must admit I did find myself daydreaming of childhood memories when I read the names of their products in this line. The Baseball Diamonds paper is eye catching to say the least. It has a mix of black, green, yellow, orange, red and two different shades of blue diamonds with white lines that resemble machine stitching. The coordinating paper on the reverse side is dark green with rows of lighter green dots. The Ka-Pow! paper has a black background with rows of stars in a mix of the same colors as the Baseball Diamonds paper. On the opposite side of the Ka-Pow! is a beautiful shade of blue and black stripes. When I look at the Ka-Pow! paper I actually think of those old cartoons that use this word when a character is knocked out and sees stars. I found both of these papers to be easy to match with a variety of different colored cardstock. Other papers also available in the Let's Pretend Collection are:

The Itsy Bitsy Bling are little plastic blossoms that are just the right size to add a special spark and a dainty little touch. They are available in six colors:

The Itty Bitty Blossoms are small flowers with 15 petals. Combined with the corduroy textured Who's Got the Button brads and you can really dress up your projects in many ways with all different color combinations. Bazzill and Imaginisce teamed up for these three products and the colors are hand picked by the Bazzill Basics Paper team and coordinate with Bazzill cardstock. You can find both the Itty Bitty Blossoms and the Who's Got the Button? brads in the following colors:

For my first layout I was a bit nervous to use a paper that looked more on the boyish side with pictures of my girls. But once I started searching for photos to use I quickly realized that would not be a problem at all.

Blossom flowers (Imaginisce: Itty Bitty Blossoms - Evening Surf)
Corduroy Brads (Imaginisce: Who's Got the Button? - Evening Surf)
Marker (Close to My Heart)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech: Glue Dot Runner)

My next layout went together very quickly. Once I decided on which matching cardstock I would use, the design just fell into place.

Corduroy Brads (Imaginisce: Who's Got the Button? - Evening Surf)

I really like this collection from Imaginisce. It has great color combinations and that gives it an easy way to mix and match with so many other items and products. Although this collection is a good option for all those fun children's photos we have captured, it is also very versatile, so there is no limit on which photos you choose or what you could design. I would recommend it and I am looking forward to purchasing some of the more girlie papers in this collection.
