Eyelet Outlet is the manufacturer of a delightful assortment of eyelets, brads, and metal embellishments. I received several sets in various and random themes, and had no trouble incorporating them into cards and layouts.

My first two projects feature the Silver Letter Charms. These have a hole in them just right for inserting a 1/8" eyelet. I used eyelets to attach the letters to my card, "Beach Party Time" and chose brads instead to attach the title "Frogs" to the layout.

Eyelet Outlet - Fasteners for every occasion!

"Because eyelets aren't just round anymore" is the quote underneath the logo on Eyelet Outlet's main website page. I think that is such a fitting saying for the variety of products offered! You can spend a good amount of time looking through all of the categories of eyelets, brads, Quicklets & tags. Whoa, wait a minute, what are Quicklets? They are the brainchild of Eyelet Outlet - an eyelet that only needs an ordinary ball-point pen to set! YES! Totally quiet and unmashed! FINALLY, someone has answered the call uttered by so many scrappers! All you do is punch a hole in the paper, insert the eyelet, turn it over and insert the pen into the back of the eyelet and turn the pen. I found it extremely easy to just grip the pen and make a circular motion with your hand while holding the pen. The back of the eyelet flares out and goes practically flat with little effort. I used the flat end of the pen to just make sure the back was flat. TERRIFIC!

The packages of eyelets, brads, Quicklets & tags arrived in clear plastic baggies separated into themes. There were shaped eyelets in wine bottles, wine glasses, beer mugs and martini glasses - all in many colors. The brads were a kick! Polka-dotted bathing suits and flip-flops! The Quicklets came in a 1/8 inch round multi-colored Fall set with a pen included for setting. The pen even has directions on it for setting the Quicklets - great idea! The tags were like mini silver dog tags with the word "friends" embossed in it. All the pieces were colorful and ready to be added to any craft project.

I wanted to make gifts for friends this holiday season and the mini "friends" tags were perfect to add to the scarf of my wooden snowman ornaments. I didn't use an eyelet or brad through the small hole at the end of the tag. I strung the tag onto fiber instead, making it hang loosely. I liked the final result as the word on the tag is visible and a nice touch.

My family came to visit this fall which was a nice treat! We had fun just going around town together and cooking on the grill at home. The shaped wine bottle and glass eyelets added a nice festive touch to the occasion!

I wanted to use the Quicklets as I would a traditional eyelet to make sure that I understood how to use them and to see if they really worked. YES! I must say that any future eyelet needs that I may have, I'm going to check Eyelet Outlet first for Quicklets!

I received a selection of unique eyelets and brads from the Eyelet Outlet (and Brads) Company. The Eyelet Outlet specializes in original eyelet designs and is constantly creating new and unique fun brads and eyelets. The Eyelet Outlet has many sizes, shapes, colors and themes to choose from. The list of cute and fun eyelets includes: Holiday, Sports, Flowers, Baby, Wedding, Military, Vacation and more. The eyelets are well made, finely detailed and have a nice shiny colored finish. I received Beer Bottles, Baseballs, Bats, Breast Cancer Ribbons, and colored round eyelets.

Eyelets and brads are two of my favorite embellishments. The eyelets are easy to set using a tool, like Karen Foster's Clikit. Brads slide easily into holes cut with the Karen Foster Clikit or a paper piercer.

The first sample is a layout featuring the round colored eyelets from the Eyelet Outlet.

The Eyelet Outlet definitely has a wonderful selection of products. I definitely can give a very high recommendation to the Eyelet Outlet's brads and eyelets. They are very reasonably priced and will make a nice addition to layouts, cards and papercrafts. I definitley plan on ordering more eyelets and brads for my own use and I can recommend that you do the same.

I received a selection of decorative eyelets, brads, and tags from Eyelet Outlet. The first thing you notice is that these are not your average eyelets and brads. The eyelets from Eyelet Outlet are fun and unique. They also have a unique eyelet called Quicklets, which are hammerless. For this type of eyelet, you only need the pressure of a setting tool. The backs are pre-scored so they split easily. I loved these.

Below are a couple of projects I made using the products from Eyelet Outlet. For more layouts and projects created by the Scrapfriends Review Team, please visit the Eyelet Outlet in the gallery.

The first project uses decorative brads from Eyelet Outlet. These cute little swim trunk brads are colorful and perfect for a summer swimming layout.

“Summer Fun”
Products used:
Eyelet Outlet - decorative brads
Making Memories - patterned paper
Prism Paper - Exclusive Papers cardstock
Micron - black pen
Zig - blue pen
Adhesive Tech - glue runner, dimensional adhesive

The next project is a card that uses the Quicklets eyelets. Did I mention that I loved these? No noise!

“Liberty Freedom Card”
Products used:
Eyelet Outlet - hammerless decorative eyelets
Zsiage - patterned paper
Prism Paper - Prismatics cardstock
Stazon - stamping ink
Zig - burgundy pen
Font - Unknown
Adhesive Tech - glue runner

One thing I really like about Eyelet Outlet’s products is that they are different. Rather than the same old round eyelet, there is a wide selection of fun, interesting eyelets to choose from to liven up your projects. I also really like the brads. I use brads quite often, but really liked the fun styles from Eyelet Outlet. My all time favorite though was the Quicklets. I wish all eyelets were this way. They are so easy to use and the noise factor or lack there of, is a major plus since I am a late night scrapper. If you are looking for inexpensive and fun decorative eyelets, brads, and tags, you will most likely find what you are looking for with Eyelet Outlet.

Eyelet Outlet specializes in two scrapbooking staples: eyelets and brads. If you're looking for the tried-and-true round ones, you'll find those here. But that barely scratches the surface of what you'll find at this online store. Although I've used a number of products from Eyelet Outlet in the past, for this review I worked with specialty shaped brads and eyelets. All were attractive, easy to use, and often in difficult-to-find themes and designs.

I first took a look at military themed 1/8" eyelets, of which I received several: humvees, aircraft carriers, and jets. This isn't the extent of the military line by any means, as a visit to the site pulls up tanks, helicopters, boots and airplanes as well. A mixed-color bag of two dozen runs about $2.59, or single color bags of 20 run from $1.99 to $2.20, not counting a $.99 cent sale on one variety. These aluminum eyelets set easily and perfectly on every try, using Karen Foster's Clikit tool on a light-pressure setting. Any universal eyelet setter will do. I love the detailed contours of these designs. The details can easily be brought out more by rubbing each with a little solvent ink, or perhaps dry brushing with paint. But I liked them as-is, and used them as they came.

Cardstock by The Crafters' Workshop
Stamp by Heather's Stamping Haven
Ink by Stampin' Up!
Permanent Glue Runner by Adhesive Tech

My imagination was immediately captured by a larger-sized specialty brad mix called Safari Brads. A collection of nine different wild animals in various sizes, some nearly an inch long, comes bagged with two of each variety for $4.59. The designs are fun, and immediately brought to mind my son's love of any kind of animal toy or puzzle. We sat down together, and he picked the brads out of the bag one by one while he told me what each animal was! I especially loved the tiger, zebra, penguin, and giraffe, which are actually two-colored to bring out the design detail. What fun to work with!

Patterned Paper by Karen Foster Design (Dragon Scales)
Patterned Paper by Creative Memories
Letter stamps by Making Memories
Ink by Stampin' Up!

Eyelet Outlet offers items grouped by theme, including sports, holidays, 'clothes line,' drinks, flowers, vacation, 'home town hero' and more. I especially liked the musical note eyelets found in the 'miscellaneous' category, where I also found a pink breast cancer ribbon design. Standard round eyelets include a variety called 'Quicklets,' of which it's said that they can be set with 'just' an eyelet setter or a pen, no hammer needed. Some related items, such as eyelet charms, tags and washers are also offered. The clearance area, always a favorite stop for me, is packed with a number of items for bargain prices. I'd have to recommend Eyelet Outlet as a first stop for anyone on the hunt for traditional or unique eyelets, brads or related wares. You just can't find these - or this kind of variety - in other stores.
