Get ready for holiday celebrations with the Christmas Paisley Sugarplum Collection from Daisy D's. I received two each of seven different papers from this collection including:
- Candy Apple Red
- Sugarplum Stripe
- Sugarplum Plaid
- Peppermint Diamond
- Peppermint
- Snowman Magic
- Sugarplum Paisley
"Better Not Pout" Brackets & Corners and "The Magic of Christmas" Cardstock Stickers, Cardstock Die-Cuts, and Rub-Ons were also included to complement the paper. I do need to note that I really liked the application of the rub-ons. They were very smooth! I used them as the title and even as a frame around a photo in this layout. It came together very quickly and easily using several of the products from this new collection.

Daisy D’s is a company who has been around in the scrapbooking world for several years. The quality of Daisy D’s products is well-known, and their releases always seem to be in tune with current trends and desires. I have used several Daisy D’s themed papers in my scrapbooks in the past, so I was excited to receive the Daisy D’s Paisley Sugarplum Collection to review this month.
The Paisley Sugarplum Collection is designed specifically for Christmas/Holiday themes, and is reminiscent of Christmas past. The newest Christmas collection from Daisy D’s consists of Christmas colors of bright red, green, and light blue. The patterns on the papers that I received are paisleys, stripes, snowmen, and plaids along with other non-traditional patterns. Every paper is subtly distressed and looks to me like vintage Christmas Wrapping paper. The set of papers I received also came with a sheet of classic rub-ons, a sheet of die-cut tags, and two sheets of stickers. Everything is perfectly coordinated and ready to pull together a quick card or Christmasy layout.
For my first project, I wanted to contrast the vintage looking papers with a modern technical traditions. My son loved tracking Santa on the NORAD website last year, so I decided to use the Daisy D’s Paisley and Sugarplum papers to remember it.

Patterned Paper, Die-cut, Rub-ons, Stickers (Daisy D’s Paisley and Sugarplum)
Chipboard Letters; Stickers (American Crafts)
Santa Sticker (Jolee’s)

Although I had intended to contrast the older papers with the modern pictures, I wasn’t sure that I had created the look I had intended. So, for my next project I decided to do something a little more classic and traditional to see if I would like my page better. I took a picture of our tree from last year, and paired it with the Daisy D’s products. I have to say that I love the resulting look!

I have enjoyed working with the Daisy D’s Paisley Sugarplum Collection. I will definitely use these papers for further Christmas projects. This is one of those collections that make me wish that I had older Christmas photos to scrap. As usual, the quality of Daisy D’s papers and products are outstanding. If you love traditional Christmas colors, and distressed looking papers, then I recommend you go out and find Daisy D’s Paisley Sugarplum products.

Daisy D's Paisley Sugarplum collection indulges all of our creative styles with an impressive assortment of 18 sheets of patterned paper, die cut tags, buttons, ribbons, chipboard titles, flowers, gems and stickers.
I received the 12" x 12" page kit ($13.00 retail) for this review which includes two sheets of seven patterned papers, a sheet of die cut tags, and two sheets of rub-ons. The page kit embodies the traditional red, green and white colors of the season with a hint of baby blue here and there. While the colors are traditional, the patterns and distressing give the collection a toned down and aged feel to them. Papers retail for $.60 each.
The patterns include:
- Sugarplum Paisley - a multicolor paisley pattern on red background.
- Candy Apple Red - a lovely weathered red with hints of white, cream and green.
- Peppermint - red and white weathered bits on a green background.
- Sugarplum Stripe - a nice bold striped pattern with large red, green and white stripes and small baby blue and black stripes with the weathered edges and markings.
- Sugarplum Plaid - a festive red and green plaid pattern on a cream-colored background. It too has a weathered look to it.
- Peppermint Diamond - a really fun, graphic pattern of green diamonds on a cream background with a tiny blue dot in the center of each. The weathered edges bring in the red color.
- Snowman Angel - so cute with rows of snowmen figures in various poses and costumes frolicking around on a red background with worn and weathered edges.
The Magic of Christmas rub-on transfer sheet ($4.98 retail) gives you a mixture of really unique frames, brackets, photo corners and phrases to choose from as well as the title of my first project:

The Brackets and Corners cardstock sticker sheet ($2.30 retail) has some super sized brackets, arrows, ampersand and photo corners to choose from, a bold collection of 18 stickers in all.
The Better Not Pout die cut tag sheet ($3.00 retail) rounds out the page kit with a generous selection of 24 tags to choose from! The tags have very fresh and interesting designs and colors, though all of these tags are roughly the same size. They work well as a page accent, title or journaling block. Using them as gift tags would be another option.

Review by Karen
On Christmas eve children may be dreaming of sugar plums but I think that their mom’s will be dreaming of Paisley Sugarplums, Daisy D’s newest Christmas collection. My review package included two sheets of 5 different printed papers and two distressed but more solid papers, a sheet of rub-ons, stickers and die cuts. This kit includes more than enough product to complete several pages, as well as cards or projects.
The papers are in traditional red and green with a touch of powder blue here and there. The edges are distressed, but not so much so that cutting the paper in to smaller sections is difficult. The patterns range from graphic to vintage. I love the touch of vintage in the collection! They are little snowmen on a red background! This collection also has a sheet that reminds me of the traditional Christmas plaid. The sticker sheet has arrows, a large ampersand and brackets as some of the stickers. The rub-on sheet, called The Magic of Christmas, has brackets, corners and a title. The die cut sheet is full of tags that could be used on your Christmas presents as well as your scrapbook page.
My first project is an advent calendar that I made for my kids. We started by painting little circle boxes green. I say we because I included my kids in the painting part of this project. It took more time, but I love being able to include them when possible. While the boxes dried, I started making the circles that would hold the count down numbers. I used several different papers to cover the tops. If you look at the three bottom boxes, I did not paint them. They are in the natural “chipboard” color. I had hoped that it would look like the trunk.

My second page is a layout showcasing one of our Christmas traditions, taking a picture of the kids in front of our tree on Christmas eve. Even though the colors are traditional red and green, the addition of blue really appeals to me because it cuts up the “Christmas-y” feel without loosing it all together.

I am head over heals in love with the most recent collections by Daisy D’s. This collection is no exception to that! The colors, the touch of Christmas past, and products that are top notch really draw me into this collection. I know that many people worry about rub-on’s and how they work. I can tell you that I am one of the pickiest rub-on users out there. I know that there are many good ones, but to have a great rub-on is difficult. Daisy D’s has a great rub-on! The ease of how they rub on, the fact that the release paper “shows” the rub-on releasing, all make these perfect!!
If you don’t have some Daisy D’s products in your scraping supplies, well, shame on you! I can’t wait to see what they come up with next, and you know I will be first in line to work with them. That alone should make you want to run to the store and find some of your own.
Review by Tammy
No matter where I am at, whether it be online or at the local scrapbook store, I am continually drawn to the down to earth styles of Daisy D's. Their products have a country feel which is comfortable for me to work with and seems to fit with my style of scrapbooking.
When I was asked to review the Paisley Sugarplum Page Kit by Daisy D's, I began imagining snowflakes, Santas, wreaths, and holly berries mixed with a country tone. After opening my review package I realized that I had underestimated what this collection was about.
The page kit consisted of twelve (12 x 12-inch) papers in seven different designs; one (13 3/4 x 10-inch) Die Cut tags sheet; one (11 1/4 x 7-inch) Brackets & Corners Cardstock Stickers sheet; and, one (11 1/4 x 7-inch) rub-on sheet. Also included in my review package (but separate from the Paisley Sugarplum Page Kit) was one (11 1/4 x 7-inch) The Magic of Christmas Cardstock Stickers sheet. The papers were in the traditional reds and greens but veered away from the traditional Christmas designs. Instead, the papers were decked in stripes, plaids, diamonds, paisleys, and two distressed solids; one red, and one green. The only paper in this kit that would be specific to a Christmas theme was designed with Snowmen and the words "Merry Christmas". All of the others could be left to the interpretation of the scrapbook artist. I was thrilled at the possibilities that lay ahead.
The first project promised to be very exciting as it was the first time working in the 6 x 12–inch size. The patterns in Paisley Sugarplum kit worked very nicely with this size layout. The plaid and paisley patterns were the perfect background pieces I needed for this layout and they worked very well together.

Last year our church decided to go Christmas Caroling and then afterwards we would go back to a friend's home for fellowship and more singing. The playful designs proved to be perfect for the fun evening we had. Creating the title was so easy by using "the magic of Christmas" rub-on. The large photo corner found on the Cardstock sticker sheet coupled with the ribbon from Tie One On added that finishing touch that this page needed.

After much debate, I decided to include this layout in my review. The colors red and green have a dual meaning because of my Italian heritage so I decided to use a few of the patterns found in the Paisley Sugarplum collection, to capture the events of this evening. Since these are my birthday pictures, I'm very excited about how this page turned out. I love everything about it, the colors, patterns, even the pictures. So, even if some think that it resembles Christmas in July, it was my birthday and this page makes me happy!
