Review by RandiLet me be honest and say that I am very slow catching on to the whole "distressed" thing. I was interested in trying this Walnut Ink Dauber to get some "distressing" experience. I was a little surprised at how actually LIQUID this liquid ink is. It says liquid on the label, but I guess I was expecting more of a thick, inky liquid. But, this IS what it says and it does a good job of leaving the walnut color wherever you sponge the dauber tip. I used it on this mini-book to give it more of a rugged zoo animal look.

It is my personal preference and not the fault of the product, but I would prefer a darker color. Still, for a light colored walnut to add to your pages, this is a good value and will last a really long time.
Review by SarahCreek Bank Creations Liquid Walnut Ink: Watery
This walnut ink comes premixed in liquid form, in a 4-ounce bottle. It has a wide, felt-tipped applicator making it easy to dab, swish or paint on the ink.
I admit that I am accustomed to using stamp pads and Distress Ink pads rather than liquid for ink application. I thought that Creek Bank Creations Liquid Walnut Ink was very watery. I guess that can be good or bad, depending on your preference.
The handy felt applicator tip and easy-to-hold bottle made it simple to apply ink all over the project, rather than just on the edges. The ink applies freely and does not leave funny marks where the edge of a stamp pad would. I found that I had to be careful not to squeeze the bottle too much or a lot of liquid ink would come out. Overall, I liked the effect offered, and it was very easy to do. A little goes a long way with this ink, and at a retail price of $4.99, it is an inexpensive buy that will last.
On the negative side, this ink warps paper by making it curl up. Be very careful to apply the ink lightly, try to keep it on heavier papers, and make sure to flatten the paper out while it is drying. Also, this ink only comes in one shade of brown. While it is relatively easy to get very light coverage, if you want a darker color, it is difficult to accomplish with this particular product the reason being that if you apply too much of this thin liquid ink, it warps the paper as I mentioned.
I used Liquid Walnut Ink in combination with a black stamp pad. I colored most of the bulk of the paper with Liquid Walnut Ink and then darkened the edges with the stamp pad. Swishing the ink over the paper produced an attractive aged look that happened to be just what I was after.

Overall, I think that Liquid Walnut Ink will be a matter of personal preference. I wish that the ink were a bit thicker so that it would be less likely to curl paper. However, it does offer a different look from other products I have used, so I am planning to keep it around as a specialty product. It is not a good distressing product, but it is great for all-over color alteration or aging.
In Summary: Not a good "distress ink" product, Liquid Walnut Ink is great for all-over "aging." A lot of ink comes in the bottle, and a little ink goes a long way, making for an inexpensive purchase. Use carefully as the ink is very thin, watery liquid and will probably curl your paper.
Review by RachelI was excited to see the Liquid Walnut Ink from Creek Bank Creations. It is a 4 oz bottle of pre-mixed walnut ink. It has a dauber in it so there is no spilling with the lid on. You need to actually push down the dauber to get the liquid to flow. I was excited to see this because I hate mixing my walnut ink. In fact, I sold my walnut ink crystals because I hated it that much. This was so exciting. I am an instant gratification person which is not always good. I like to be able to immediately open the product and use it. The Liquid Walnut Ink is perfect for me. It was so easy to use and you can even control the flow of the liquid by how hard you push on the dauber. If you want just a little distressing, then push lightly on the dauber. If you want more distressing, then push harder on the dauber. It is so simple. The following picture shows how the dauber works in the above way. The right side shows how it looked when I pushed lightly on the dauber and the left is the heavy coverage. Its retail cost is about $4.99 but I did find it for much cheaper all over the internet. At the $4.99 price, I wasnt so sure that I would have purchased it. I think I would have stuck with my ink pads for distressing. After searching, I did find several places that were selling it for about $2.99. That is definitely more within my budget and I definitely think this product is worth that.

I then used that paper to do a layout detailing my love of purple. It has always been my favorite color and I wanted to document that in my All About Me Album.

In summary, I think that this product is great for beginners and experts alike. The beginners will love it because it is so easy to use. It saves time and stained fingers. The experts will enjoy how you are able to control how much of the liquid you apply and the ease of use as well.
Review by CathyCreek Bank Creations Walnut Ink is a pre-mixed walnut ink in a dauber-topped bottle. This makes the ink convenient to use, clean up and store. Traditionally, walnut ink comes in crystal form, requiring the user to mix the ink and then store it. Walnut ink is made from walnuts and gives a brown stain to paper, fabrics and ribbon. With the dauber applicator, it is possible to dab, coat or edge products.
My first layout is titled "Two Dads in the Grand Canyon". Walnut ink was applied to Twill and Paper. The walnut ink gives the twill and white paper an aged and rustic look. The walnut ink applied to the sanded teal card stock resulted in a beautiful rich color.
This first picture shows the twill before the Creek Bank Creations Walnut Ink is applied and how easy it is to apply the walnut ink with the dauber applicator. I recommend placing waxed paper on your work surface and covering the waxed paper with paper towel or newspaper.

In the next photo, the walnut dyed twill was blotted onto the paper towel and the result is a light staining. Notice the contrast between dyed and new twill.

This picture shows two tags made from card stock and sanded with a PM Design Scrapper's Block.

The sanded tags are saturated with Creek Bank Creations: Walnut Ink

The resulting color is a beautiful rich teal brown, it almost looks gold in some areas.

My next example is " Prairie Lady Hawks Basketball" the basketball die cuts and the title are inked with Creek Bank Creations Walnut Ink. The ink gives the die cuts some dimension and allows the white vellum in the title to blend perfectly wi th the paper.

The Walnut Ink by Creek Bank Creations is an easy to use brownish dye that gives a lovely aged, rustic look to paper, twill and ribbon. I loved working with the Walnut Ink and plan to use it on my whole Grand Canyon album. I can definitely recommend this product for purchase.
Review by KathleenI received a 4 fluid ounce bottle of Liquid Walnut Ink from Creek Bank Creations, Inc. I was pretty excited by this because I have always wanted to use walnut ink, even bought the walnut ink crystals, but had never used it. So I was thrilled to have the walnut ink already pre-mixed and in a handy bottle with a dauber applicator.
I used the Liquid Walnut Ink for the following birthday card.
Title: Celebrate Star Card
Products used: Creek Bank Creations Inc. Liquid Walnut Ink
Bazzill Basics textured cardstock
Red Heart Tiki fiber
Making Memories Silver Star charm
Adhesive Tech Glue Runner
Provo Craft rub-on phrase
Fiskars paper crimper
To create this card I first applied the Liquid Walnut Ink to the white cardstock. After a few minutes of drying time, I re-inked the paper. I then tore the edges and adhered the inked cardstock to the card front. I then applied the rub on phrase, fiber, and charm.
I really enjoyed this product and found myself reaching for it quite often when working with the Creek Bank Creations, Inc. Office Werks Collection. It is a great product for achieving that distressed or aged look. I found that the Liquid Walnut Ink dries very quickly too. The first application is light in appearance but will darken with re-application. A tip with using this product is to let each application dry before applying the next layer otherwise your paper will start to peel.
If you are new to creating the aged look, or just want an easy applicator bottle filled with pre-mixed walnut ink, this is a great product. It is easy to use and will last a long time.
Liquid Walnut Ink was also used on the following layouts. More information on these layouts can be located in my Creek Bank Creations, Inc. Office Werks review.
