Review by RandiWho doesn't love a coordinating kit delivered to their home? It is so FUN to open it and have everything matched up and ready for your personal touch. The kit from Creating With Paper arrived in a handy re-useable plastic CraftKeeper -- handy to keep the kit contents separate from other supplies and handy for use when the kit is all gone.
Creating With Paper offers the "Grande Kit" which contains several sheets of coordinating paper and cardstock, rub-ons, clear acrylic stamps, ink, stickers, verse cards, wood letters, wood frames, embellishments, fibers (this time it was Weaveworks) and a full size chocolate bar to sweeten the fun! There were ample materials for my four layouts and quite a bit left over to use another time. The kit contained items allowing for several types of layouts, so it was not limiting to me. The only additions I added were some brads, a bit of ribbon, and some different colored cardstock.
Boy and girl were very doable with the variety of colors on the papers and embellishments. The rub-ons added a nice touch to one of the wooden frames.

If you are stumped on ideas for your kit, Creating With Paper has a Design Team to inspire you, the members each having a section in a gallery. They also have a forum on which you can discuss a particular kit's contents with others who have received it.
A benefit of purchasing a monthly kit (aside from the assurance of coordinating new products each month) is that often you receive a good discount on the products you receive. Creating With Paper kits have an approximate retail value of $40 and sell for:
$33.35 for 6 month membership.
$35.15 for 3 month membership.
$36.90 for one time purchase.
I give this kit a big "thumbs-up" for variety. The layouts came together quickly and easily. I found that on the whole it coordinated quite well. I didn't "get" the lavendar cardstock included in my kit, but everything else seemed to work quite well together. If you are looking for the convenience of a monthly kit, I encourage you to check out what Creating With Paper has to offer.
Review by AndreaDoor-to-door service is hard to come by these days, so when the notion of scrapping supplies being delivered right to you came about, how could it go wrong? A wonderfully jam-packed shipment of the latest scrapbooking supplies already coordinated for me arrived from Creating With Paper for review. How cool is that?
The Winter Fresh Grande Kit came in a 12" x 12" Generations CraftKeeper wrapped with a good length of natural twill. All sorts of supplies were peeking at me through the semi-transparent Craftkeeper - 12" x 12" cardstock, patterned paper, an ink pad, clear stamps, rub-ons, I kan'dee, wood letters & frames, frazzles and stickers! OH, I can't forget the candy bar! The majority of the supplies were K&Company, Studio K themed and the rest coordinated very well in color and style. Everything I needed except adhesive, a trimmer and a cup of tea was found in that treasure chest, even dessert!
There were enough supplies in the Grande Kit to complete many projects - where to start? I decided to make a gift for my aunt using a variety of the items, from patterned paper to wooden embellishments. I started with a base of patterned paper around the lunch pail and on the top. The colored stitch and ribbon rub-ons were a wonderful accent down the side seams and along the top around the handle and latch. The Ragweave coordinated very well serving to secure the wood label holder along the bottom and the monogram along the top. The biggest problem with this project is that I ran out of Ragweave too quickly!

After the Altered Lunch Pail, there was still a surplus of kit contents left for many more projects. I ventured into another altered project, this time on an 8" x 10" canvas. I printed out one of my Step-Dad's favorite photos of my Mom and attached it to the K&Company patterned paper. I thought the combination really gave the whole project a great nostalgic feel. The Collage paper and file tab were perfect office embellishments because my Mom worked in the City Auditor's Department for a number of years!

The Winter Fresh Grande Kit starts at $33.35 and there are a many other themed kits and other items available for various prices, so please check the site for details. The monthly kit packages are 1-month, 3-month or 6-month commitments with the ship and charge date being on the 15th of the month. The estimated retail product value for the Grande Kits is $40.00. I like the fact that each kit has coordinating paper, embellishments, stamp pad and stamps. It has a nice appeal to the member that not only scrapbooks, but crafts in other areas as well.
I really enjoyed working with the Creating With Paper Winter Fresh Grande Kit for the projects completed for this review and will keep enjoying it by using the stamps and ink pad for much more! The combination of including consumable (paper, embellishments) with non-consumable (stamps, CraftKeeper) items in the same kit adds value beyond the original purchase. Keep it up Robin! You have a great product here and I believe that once you're a member, you will stay a long time customer!
Review by SarahCreating With Paper Monthly Kits: Something to Offer
The catchphrase of CreatingWithPaper.com is “Making the Most of Your Paper,” and that focus is evident in their “Winter Fresh” Grande kit for January, 2006. Paper, of both the cardstock and patterned varieties, comprise the main staple of this kit. The embellishments consist of traditional stickers and newer rub-ons; economical stamps and ink; trendy fabric strips and chipboard cutouts, as well as a couple of fun surprises.
My kit arrived packed in a 12x12 Craftkeepers clear envelope container and tied with a piece of twill tape:
Papers:
1 K & Company Studio K: Beige Words Patterned Paper
1 K & Company Studio K: Polka Dots Patterned Paper
1 K & Company Studio K: Beige Print Patterned Paper
1 K & Company Studio K: Brown, Pink, Green Dots Patterned Paper
1 K & Company Studio K: Meadow Stripe Patterned Paper
1 K & Company Studio K: Alphabet & Squares Patterned Paper
2 K & Company Butternut Cardstock
2 Olive Cardstock
2 Purple Cardstock
1 Carolee's Creations Purple Patterned Paper
1 Carolee's Creations Stripe Patterned Paper
Embellishments:
1 Stampendous! Perfectly Clear Stamps - Leaves
1 Versa Color Tropical Green Stamp Pad
1 The A-List Scrapbook Stickers, letter A
1 K & Company Studio K: Rub-On Words
1 K & Company Studio K: Rub-On Stitches & Ribbons
1 K & Company Studio K: Journey Sticker Tabs
1 pkg I Kandee Pebble Shakers
1 Weavewerks "Early Autumn" RagWeave fabric strips
16 K and Co. Proverbs to Go
Chipboard bookplate, tag and letters H, I, R, S, Z,
1 Mittens Die Cut Piecing
Nestle Crunch candy bar
I think that the defining features of the Creating With Paper kits are their reusable stamps and inks; and, of course, the candy bar! While the candy bar is a fun and tasty little surprise to the kit, the stamps and inks transcend the usual “consumable” genre of scrapbooking embellishments, offering additional use month after month when the stickers are long gone.
I found it notable to discover the absence of the usual, though rather bygone, dimensional miscellany such as brads and other metal items. Overall, the items included in the kit were flat. The dimensional embellishments that were included boasted only the latest in scrapbook trends – Weavewerks fabric strips, chipboard cutouts, and Pebbles I-kan-dee shaker bubbles.
All that aside, I think that scrapbookers universally agree that the best thing about kits is receiving “coordinating” items. I thoroughly enjoyed having one of each of K & Company’s new “Studio K” papers and (very cool) rub-ons. It was like having an entire line of embellishments come to my doorstep. With my kit I also received 2 Carolee’s Creations papers and 2 cardstock pieces, all in purple. They did not match the rest of the kit and I was rather puzzled by their presence, as these items are not listed in the master list of supplies included in the “Winter Fresh” kit at CreatingWithPaper.com. A little bonus? Since they didn’t coordinate very well, I only used one of the papers as a mat. However, of the main supply of Studio K items, I used them up… completely! Supplemented with just a couple of pieces of Prism cardstock and sticker lettering from my stash, I was able to make an entire 6”x6” ABC album from the supplies in my CreatingWithPaper.com “Winter Fresh” kit.
I don’t have space to display the entire album in my review, but please check the gallery if you would like to see the rest of the book! This little book follows the lyrics to the 1948 song by Buddy Kaye, Fred Wise and Sidney Lippman, popularized by Perry Como. It’s one of our favorites to sing to our 2-year-old, and I’d been wanting to make a scrapbook songbook for awhile. When the CreatingWithPaper.com kit arrived including The A-List Letter “A” stickers with a big letter “A” and a sticker reading “adorable,” I knew I had found what I’d been waiting for.

Title: A, You’re Adorable
Products used: K & Company (Studio K: Beige Print Collage Flat, Polka Dots papers)
K & Company (Studio K: Rub-On Stitches & Ribbons)
The A-List Scrapbook Stickers (Letter A)
Gold Photo Corners – not included in kit
This next page uses Weavewerks fabric strips as background and embellishment.

Title: E, You’re Exciting
Products used: K & Company (Studio K: Beige Print Collage Flat paper)
Weavewerks (RagWeave: "Early Autumn" fabric strips)
Delta (Stencil Mania: Whimsical Dot Alphabet Stencil)
Loew-Cornell (Watercolor Pencil)
K & Company Alphabet & Squares paper proved itself very useful for lettering when cut into pieces.

Title: F, You’re a Feather in my Arms
Products used: K and Co. (Butternut Cardstock)
K & Company (Studio K: Polka Dots, Alphabet & Squares papers)
Carolee’s Creations (Stripe Patterned Paper)
BasicGrey (Sticker Letters)
Loew-Cornell (Watercolor Pencil)
Ranger (Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Vintage Photo)
On this page, I used the K & Company Rub-On Words, “Love” applied partially over the photo. The background paper was made using the Stampendous! leaf stamps included in the kit and brown ink I had on hand.

Title: L, Is the Love in Your Eyes
Products used: K and Co. (Butternut Cardstock)
K and Co. (Studio K Rub-On Words)
Stampendous! (Perfectly Clear Stamps – Leaves)
River City (Stamp Font – not included in kit)
Ranger (Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Vintage Photo – not included in kit)
Memories (Dye Ink Pad, Black – not included in kit)
Once again, Alphabet & Squares paper was used for the title lettering, and all the K & Company and provided kit cardstock coordinate beautifully.

Title: Q, R, S, T, Alphabetically Speaking… You’re OK
Products used: K & Company (Studio K: Brown, Pink, Green Dots; Alphabet & Squares Patterned Papers)
Bazzill (Olive Cardstock from CreatingWithPaper.com Kit)
K & Company (Studio K: Rub-On Stitches & Ribbons)
Leave Memories (Spring Garden, Diva-FIED, Mud Magnets fonts)
Memories (Dye Ink Pad: Black)
I made a total of 22 6" x 6" pages for this album, and also used some of the paper on an altered project. I was pleased with the amount of use I got out of the kit. I still have most of the dimensional embellishments leftover, as well as the stamps, ink and Craftkeeper holder that will stay in my collection for future use. CreatingWithPaper.com kits are not the cheapest kits available at first glance, but in consideration of the reusable items, their prices are extremely competitive.
I would like to comment that the pricing of CreatingWithPaper.com kits is rather difficult to find, as the membership fees are listed only on the “About CWP” page. Furthermore, the FAQ’s link is buried on the “About CWP” page as well. I think that CWP would do well to make this aspect of their website more user-friendly, as it is confusing to find yourself at the shopping cart with options for one-time, 3-month, or 6-month memberships with no further explanation.
In Summary: If you are interested in a kit that offers more than just “consumable” scrapbooking items (as well as a tasty treat that literally is “consumable!”), CreatingWithPaper.com kits are definitely worth consideration. Offering stamps, ink and a paper keeper that can be used over and over; a nice supply of coordinating paper; and a good mix of classic and trendy embellishments, CreatingWithPaper.com might be just the thing you have been looking for.
Review by CathyI received the January Scrapbooking kit from Creating With Paper. The kit arrived packaged in a reusable 12x12 paper holder. This kit includes paper from several manufacturers, stickers, rub-ons, wooden embellishments, quotes, acrylic stamps, ink, I kan'dee and fabric strips. It is always easy to buy great paper and embellishments; but how many times do you get home and start searching for the right cardstock or stickers and find, they don't match? I believe kits should offer a good variety of high quality items. I also believe the kit should give a taste of items you may not have purchased on your own. I had never used the tabs by K&Co and the rub-on stitches.
In evaluating a kit I want papers and embellishments that are easy to use, for multiple purposes. I want to be able to put projects together easily without many unusable items left over.
This kit comes in soft pastel and brown hues. While brown is not usually a color that I purchase, this kit works well for Wedding, Formal, Fall, Family and Vacation photos. I loved the K&Co File Tabs, the acrylic stamps and the patterned papers. The K&Co rub-on stitches were a bit temperamental but look awesome on the final projects that I made.
I received 6 sheets of patterned paper and 6 sheets of cardstock. That amount of paper will make at least 4 layouts, several cards and still have paper left over. My first project is a layout:

I can very easily recommend purchasing this kit or future kits from Creating With Paper. I would encourage the company to continue to offer the highest possible quality paper, supplies and embellishments in the future kits. The addition of acrylic stamps is a special bonus.
Review by MelanieScrapbook kits are very popular. One of the main reasons people like to get scrapbook kits is because someone else has done the leg work for you. You receive an assortment of coordinated cardstock, paper and embellishments - right at your door. Creating with Paper is a new scrapbook kit club that is reasonably priced. The kits come in a Generations 12" x 12" craftkeeper along with the kit contents AND a chocolate candy bar. My kit came in a purple Craftkeeper. The contents were:
- 8 patterned papers from K&Co,
- 2 patterned papers from Carolee's Creations
- 6 sheets of 12x12 cardstock (Bazzill)
- Studio K Rub-On Stitches and Ribbon
- Studio K Rub-On Words
- Studio K File Tabs
- The "A" List Stickers (words starting with "a") by Destination Studios
- Weaveworks Rag Weave Cotton Strips
- Pebbles I kan'dee Vintage Shaker Bubbles
- A Package of Die Cut shapes
- Stampendous! Perfectly Clear Stamps
- An assortment of chipboard (letters Z, X, O, Y, K, 1 frame, 1 oval plate)
- Some fortune cookie-like quotes/sayings
- VersaColor ink (Tropical Green)
- Chocolate Bar
The Grande kit is listed on the website from approx. $33 - $37, depending on your membership length. The estimates value of the kits are $40. The kits ship on the 15th of every month. I could not find the shipping rates for the kits on the website.
I couldn't wait to start creating with this kit. Sometimes I get so used to the papers in my stash, that opening a package of something that someone else put together for you can get your creative juices flowing. This kit, with the muted soft vintage colors and the family theme, was perfect for my Thanksgiving photos. The first page I created was with our group family Thanksgiving photo. I painted my chipboard/wood to match my layout, then sanded it slightly to reveal the color underneath. I loved the rub-on stitching. Used a machine to zig zag around the edge of the cardstock, and hand-stitched some x's on the page. Some of the embellishments I used on this page were from other items I had in my stash. I love how well this paper coordinated with my other embellishments.

On my next page, I used the patterned paper with the alphabet to create my title by cutting out the letters. Again, I was happy to have the faux stitching rub-ons. They were so easy to use and look so real. I accented with the file tab and the Weavewerks fabric.

I wanted to use the ink and stamps, so I experimented with them on this card. I'm still not sold on this ink color with this collection, but I did use it on the patterned paper that had some green in it. I used a brown ink on the other papers. Again, I cut the alphabet letters from the paper to make my greeting. I used the stamps to accent the corners of the card. The leaves in this stamp collection are various sizes and work well to accent corners.

There are pros and cons for subscribing to kit clubs. The positive things are that you will be guaranteed a kit delivered to your door every month. It's always fun to "see" what your contents are every month and then dive into scrapbooking. Its even more appealing to people who do not have scrapbook stores near them and cannot pick out their paper and embellishments in person. The negative side to clubs is that you may not like the selections when you receive them. Everyone has their own tastes in what they like and don't like, so be aware that you may not like everything that comes in your kit. As long as you are in it for the fun and to create, you will usually find a use for the items that you aren't wowed by.
I used most of my patterned paper right away. I loved this collection and found it easy to coordinate with my photos. There were plenty of embellishments in this kit and I will enjoy using them on many more pages. I love the rub-on selections and the fabric strips. The stamps were wonderful. As I opened the contents of the kit and came to the stamps, I was pleasantly surprised. The website states that the kits come with stamps and an ink pad, so this is always nice. I was a bit puzzled with the color of the ink pad. The Tropical Green color was a bit bright for the vintage colors in the paper, although it did match one of the brighter greens in a couple of the papers. If I were a kit subscriber, I wouldn't mind because I know I would use the ink with other papers. My only other nit-picky observations were the wood/chipboard letters (I'm not sure if they are wood or not). I received five letters: "X,Z,O,Y,F". They are not necessarily the most commonly used letters. Also, the colors of the wood/chipboard didn't coordinate well with the papers (baby pink and lemony yellow especially) They were such cool shapes, I simply painted over the top color and sanded them up a bit to make them work with the vintage papers. The website says kits come with templates and a newsletter - neither of which I received. This could be due to that fact that we received our kits earlier for review purposes. I can't comment on these items since I haven't seen them.
In summary, based on what I received in this kit, I can recommend this scrapbook kit. There is plenty of paper to create about 6 or more pages (depending on you scrapping style) and embellishments to stretch further than the paper. I think the stamps and ink are an added plus, especially if you love stamping, or even if you are new to stamping and like having someone coordinate the stamps and paper. I have found with my experience in kit clubs, that if something doesn't get used at that moment, or isn't your style, you will eventually find a use for the items and are glad you had them in your stash. I couldn't wait to start scrapping with my kit after I received it, and I am sure that you will be just as happy.
