Review by RandiChalks are a very versatile addition to your pages. They can be subtle, as in a touch-up on the edges, cheeks on a paper doll, or add a LOT by colorizing your entire piece.
I used the Decorating Chalks on this layout to shade the edges of doors. This gives it more of a 3-D instead of flat feel. I re-created the "alphabet doors" that my daughter enjoyed so much at the museum by hanging paper "doors" on hinges. The paper doors open to show photos of my daughter and her friend peeking into real doors found in an activity in a Mr. Rogers' exhibit at the museum. I attached stickers to buttons to give the appearance of door knobs so people would instinctively know to open the doors.
The little photos of Fred Rogers are my own personal tribute to a man that I admired for nearly 40 years. I got the photos from his website.

The doors open to reveal more of the story inside.

One other thing to note: Craf-T's chalks wash out in the normal laundry. I have a two-year-old daughter that loves to "help" when I am working on projects. I gave her an old set of chalks that I had so she could "play" too. Two-year-old children are not very neat. She got it all over herself and her clothing. I thought for sure her outfit was ruined, and was very pleasantly surprised when her outfit came out of the washer CLEAN! I recommend Craf-T Decorating Chalks as a basic supply on your scrapbooking desk.
Review by SarahCraf-T chalks: a full spectrum of beautiful pastel color at your fingertips.
Chalk is a beautiful and inexpensive way to enhance your scrapbook pages. You might choose a pastel take on distressing by coloring the edges of your scrapbook paper with chalks. You can color in simple to detailed rubber stamped images. Dramatically alter the color of whole pieces of paper by applying VersaMark and chalking over the top, or by using chalk enhancer to “paint” the chalk on. Seal powdery chalk projects with an acid-free sealant spray. There is plenty of creativity potential in chalks, especially in combination with the full line of applicators and enhancing products offered by Craf-T!
Craf-T Chalks are available in 51 colors separated into four unique collections. Have you met? Well, allow me introduce you to them!
First, there is the original collection of 24 colors. This collection includes: White, Yellow, Yellow-Orange, Orange, Ruddy Red, Red, Pink, Flesh, Magenta, Orchid, Violet, Dark Blue, Royal Blue, Light Blue, Turquoise, Dark Green, Green, Lime Green, Burnt Sienna, Tan, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Grey and Black. These are the basic colors plus a few for fun (such as Orchid, which looks like purple mixed with neon pink).
Also there are two collections of nine colors each. These are my favorites because they are the tertiary or “in-between” colors. If you are someone who chooses Olive or Sage Green over Hunter Green in your sleep, these kits are for you!
Kit #2 includes: Coral, Rose, Cranberry, Eggplant, Plum, Burgundy, Lavender, Moss, Sage.
Kit #3 houses: Pale Yellow, Light Mauve, Wedgewood (light purple), Blue Green, Brick, Butterscotch, Forest Green, Brown, Charcoal.
Finally, (and I’ve saved the best for last), there is the new collection of Glimmer Chalks. These are chalks with sparkle; and let me tell you, they are beautiful! With this kit you get: Gold, White Sparkle, Blush, Rosie Gold, Lilac, Emerald, Sparkle Green, Blue Sparkle, and Golden Copper.
The “best chalks” for you are going to depend on your color style and how much chalking you like to do. For starters, I would recommend the original kit of 24 colors for those of you who like basic colors, or Kit #3 for those of you who like more unusual colors. Then I would add the Glimmer set, because this is like nothing you’ve ever seen in the chalk world. Once you get a taste of what chalks can do for your pages, though, you are going to want to add more colors to your stash! You can make more detailed and beautiful projects by blending and shading the chalk colors together, so this is truly a case of “the more, the merrier!”
In Summary: chalks are a wonderful and inexpensive enhancement supply with ultra creativity potential. Craf-T offers a wide variety of colors for you to play with!

Review by RachelThe Decorating Chalks come in 42 different colors. They have every range and color you could possibly need. They have different hues of the colors so that shading and adding dimension is not a problem. My most favorite chalks are the brand new Glimmer Chalks. These are just so awesome!! The new chalks come in 9 different colors. I noticed that they are much creamier than the decorating chalks. But they add such a great sheen and sparkle to any product. They are absolutely amazing. The Decorating Chalks and the new Glimmer Chalks are a product I will reach for on almost every project that I am working on.
On this layout, I colored in the vellum design with chalks using the Pixie E-Z Chalk Applicator.

Review by CathyChalks are one of my favorite Scrapbooking and card-making tools. Decorating Chalks come in a large variety and can be blended to make custom coloring. As a tool, they are easy to use, inexpensive, versatile and forgiving -- if you make a mistake or a smudge, simply erase it with the Craft-T Chalk Away Eraser and start again.
DECORATING CHALKS come in a large box of 24 basic colors or in smaller boxes of 9 specialty colors. Decorating Chalks are good for adding a touch of color when a soft or subtle look is required. Decorating Chalks work perfectly with torn paper edges as an accent or to add color to a rubber stamped item. Chalks can be used to age paper, color vellum or add color to small or large areas.
In this example, the decorating chalks add color and help the title stand out.

DECORATING CHALKS CLASSIC GLIMMERS are chalks that shimmer. These chalks sparkle and add rich color to a project. Lake Geneva Title is embossed on vellum with the rich Decorating Chalks Classic Glimmers.

This is a picture of my son and his uncle on a trip to Goose Lake, Ontario, Canada. I used the Craft-T Rub-Ons dark green with the Decorator's Chalk Glimmer Golden Copper. The homemade tags, photo corners and background for letters inside the Hugz demonstrate how easy it is to coordinate embellishments for your page. I simply applied the chalk and Craf-T Rub-Ons to the brads, paper, and Magic Mesh. The brads are matte finished mini brads from Karen Foster that are brushed with the Craf-T Copper Rub-Ons I applied the Craf-T Decorating Chalk Glimmer Copper to background paper underneath the circular letters. The colors are very rich and opaque.
This photo shows the rich copper colored Glimmer Decorating Chalk applied directly to paper circles and then covered with a letter sticker for a one of a kind title.

The tag, brads and Magic Mesh (after the application of Decorating Chalks and Glimmers) coordinate with the other page elements perfectly.

This layout is an ATV adventure in British Columbia. Decorating Chalk- black was used to shade under and to the side of the die cuts. It gives them a little more definition and dimension. Inside the Journaling box was colored in with Decorating Chalk to coordinate with the background paper.

National Dance Competition: Becky’s Solo: I used the E-Z Chalk Enhancer with the Decorating Chalks to first color the ballet dancers. Then I added the Decorating Chalks new Classic Glimmers to give sparkle to the dancers. I used the E-Z Chalk Enhancer with the Glimmer Decorating Chalk to decorate the white spots on the purple mesh frame. They match the dancers perfectly and give the page a real sophisticated look.

My recommendation for the Decorating Chalks and the Decorating Chalks with Glimmers is extremely positive. Chalks are a very good investment for a scrapbooker or a card maker. These chalks are of high quality and give a very consistent result.
Review by KathleenScrapbookers! Chalk isn't just for schoolrooms and sidewalks anymore! If you have yet to try chalk on your scrapbook pages or cards, now is the time with decorating chalks from Craf-T. Craf-T has a line of decorating chalks in a 24 count palette and two 9-count palettes. Craf-T has also released a new 9-count palette of glitter chalks.
Using chalk on your scrapbook pages can be a really fun experience. They are a versatile tool and can provide many different looks to your pages creating depth and softness. It is a tool that is appropriate for beginners to advanced scrapbookers.
The following layout shows an example of a simple use of chalking. I used chalks to create an ocean border at the bottom of this two page layout. Using a cotton ball, I applied blue chalk as my water base. I then used the E -Z Chalk Pixie applicator to create depth by mixing a darker shade of blue and black. Using chalk allowed me to vary the intensity of color and create a natural look of ocean waves.

For a little more embellishment, you can use chalk to accent embossed paper, titles, and journaling. The following layout highlights all three. I used the E-Z Chalk Pudgy applicator to apply pink chalk to emphasize one flower on the background patterned paper. I also used the E-Z Chalk Pudgy applicator to shade in the leaves and stem with green. I used the E-Z Chalk Pixie applicator to highlight the flower with red chalk.I then cut the flower so it would hang over the picture.
The title uses the new Craf-T Glimmer chalks. This was applied with the E-Z Chalk Pixie applicator by filling in the letters. I think these chalks give that little extra glimmer but still maintain a soft look.
Finally, using the E-Z Chalk Pudgy applicator, I chose to highlight certain words in the journaling using pink chalk.

If you really want to get into using chalks on your layouts, they are the perfect tool for making borders and titles. Using chalks gives you a chance to dig out those templates from the back of your scrapping closet and put them to work.
To create the title for the following layout, I created a "sand" base using a mixture of brown chalks. I applied the chalk using a cotton ball to keep the color from getting too intense. I then used the E-Z Chalk Pudgy applicators to make the ocean using a mixture of blues and greens. I used a beach template to shadow in the feet on the sand using black chalk. The letters for the title "Beach Bums" are hand written and I filled in the letters using yellow chalk that I later enhanced with the E-Z Chalk Enhancer.

Title: Beach Bums

Diecuts With A View – Robins Egg and Blue cardstock

The Craf-T decorating chalks are fun to use and allow you to expand your creativity. They have become a regular staple in my tool box. Have fun experimenting with this fun tool!
