Craft-T's applicators come in two sizes, Pixie for those small projects and Pudgy (which I used the most often) . They are really nice for the chalks, when you need a straight line with the Metallic Rub-Ons and a MUST HAVE for using the Enhancer. The Decorator Chalks and Enhancer come with some applicators. You'll want to purchase these for extras and replacements. They are well worth the little you'll pay for them. You need these applicators! (save the Q-Tips for your ears!)

E-Z Chalk Applicators are the recommended way to spread chalks on your projects – they look like stubby eyeshadow applicators. These particular chalk wands are available from Craf-T in two sizes: “Pixie” and “Pudgy.” “Pudgy” applicators have a wide sponge pad tip, while “Pixie” applicators are narrower – about half the width of the “Pudgy” applicators. My personal pick is the “Pixie” size applicator. I found that the narrower tip was much easier to use in detailed work.

The applicators do a beautiful job of spreading chalks. It is easy to apply the chalks lightly, or shade them to darker tones. They are essential for use with E-Z Chalk Enhancer. You can even use them to apply Craf-T’s Metallic Rub-Ons when you want to keep your fingers clean. Or if you are concerned about using your acidic fingers to apply Metallic Rub-Ons, E-Z Chalk Applicators are a great solution.

Unfortunately, the handle of the applicators is not quite 1 ½ inches in length. I have a bit of carpal tunnel going on in my wrists and it was really hard for me to hold on to these babies. Particularly with detailed work such as coloring a stamp, holding onto such a short handle really cramped my hand and arm. I would love to see a new version of these applicators with a longer, paint brush style handle.

E-Z Chalk Applicators can be found online at a cost of about 50 cents per applicator in packs of 3. I went through my supply of 20+ applicators in a hurry because I wanted to spread each shade of chalk separately. However, with warm water, most of the chalk did rinse out of the spongey pad tip. For future use, I am planning to keep a pair of applicators, one “Pudgy” and one “Pixie,” for each color group (reds, pinks, purples, etc.) and store each pair in its own small plastic baggie.

In Summary: E-Z Chalk Applicators spread chalk like a dream. You would be really hard pressed to find anything that would work as well for use with the E-Z Chalk Enhancer, however the handles are short and may cause hand/arm cramps.

E-Z Chalk Sponge Applicators

These applicators come in two different sizes. The two sizes are Pixie and Pudgy. They are designed to break down the chalks and make the chalks go on much more smooth. I really like both of these for different reasons. The Pixie size is small and comes to a point. It makes it much easier for those small places and intricate designs. The Pudgy size is great for large areas. They give much more coverage than the Pixie.

The Craf-T E-Z Chalk Applicators have a small sponge-like head on a short plastic holder. They come in two sizes, one is a small narrow head, very handy for fine lines or small spaces. The second size has a slightly bigger head. The E-Z Chalk applicators work great. They are easy to use, pick up a good amount of chalk and are easy to clean with soap and water. I liked them better than Q-tips or cotton balls. All Craf-T Chalks come with several applicators, but extras are available to purchase separately. I defininitely recommend these highly.

The E-Z Chalk Applicators are a tool you can use in your chalking and Metallic Rub-Ons projects. Craf-T provides two sizes, Pudgy and Pixie. The Pudgy applicator has a fatter tip and is great for covering larger areas. The Pixie applicator is an excellent tool for chalking smaller areas and providing highlights.
