Designing your Z-Becky Brown Purse with Scrapbook Layouts
by Catherine Sebree

The first time I was asked to design an insert for a Z-Becky Brown purse, I was a little intimidated. After my first set of inserts, however, I realized that designing inserts for this purse is really no more intimidating or scary than designing scrapbook pages.

Supplies needed
Cardstock
Patterned Paper
Pictures
Embellishments

First: Choose your pictures and chose a theme. I usually change my purse once every couple of months, so I like to make my purse go along with the seasons.

Second: Choose your cardstock and trim to size. I have kept the original insert from my Z-Becky purse, and use that for measurement.

You can also go to the website and download a template to use for designing your inserts. Just make sure that when you print your inserts, that your computer/printer does not automatically reduce the size of the print. A large number of printers will automatically do this with large prints from the internet, so check to see that the printout is set to 100%. The measurements that I used for the front are: 5 ¾” X 7 ¾”, sides: 5 ¾” X 4 3/8”, and back 5 1/8” X 7 ¾”.

Third: Choose your patterned paper and embellishments, and plan your pages. Trim your pictures to the size you would like and adhere patterned paper and pictures to the cardstock. Make sure that any embellishments that you would like to use are no thicker than ¼”.

I like to try to make sure that certain elements of my pages line up so that the inserts look as if they are seemless. You may choose to do the same thing.

Fourth: After completing the four sides of inserts for your purse, you simply separate the foam-backed insert separator, and insert the back, front, and sides.

Take your purse out and let people admire it!
