How to Watercolor Using a Stamp Pad

This is a very pretty technique. This technique can make an image look bold or soft depending on what colors of ink you use. It can also depend on what kind of ink you use as well depending on whether it is chalks, pigments, and that kind of thing!
Supplies Needed:

Ink Pads
Spray bottle with Water
Scrap Paper
Stamp of your choice
First step is to prepare your stamp pad. You want to make sure that your stamp pad is really juicy! You want to make sure that your stamp is liberally covered with ink. If you want to add some dimension to your project, you could also ink your stamp with a lighter color first and then a darker color of ink. Some people worry about contaminating your ink pads that way but ink pads can be cleaned fairly well by just stamping the ink pads themselves on scrap paper.

As soon as your stamps are inked up well, then use your spray bottle to lightly mist water across the top of your stamp. Be sure not to spray the water directly onto your stamp. It will turn your image very muddy.

As soon as you are done misting, stamp your image onto scrap paper. I usually stamp an image twice and pick the one I like best. This is a very easy and fun technique to do. It can be done subtlety or bold whichever you prefer. Experiment and play!!
