Tiny Tile Treasures

There are many techniques out there for making "faux" tiles; however I recently excavated a treasure trove of antique ceramic tiles and thought it would be just as wonderful to stamp on “the real deal!”
The small tiles are lightweight enough that they can be utilized for cards, pins and or magnets. The larger ones are perfect for gifts or home decor items such as coasters or wall hangings.
Creating your own stamped tiles could not be easier. The majority of the supplies you will already have on hand.

You will need:
- Tiles
- a dusting cloth
- matte sealant, such as Krylon
- permanent, archival dye inks, examples include Memories, Staz-On
- Stamps of your choice
- Additional embellishments - I have chosen to use UTEE and Craf-T metallic rub-ons for mine -- at least for now
2.Seal with a light coat of matte sealant, this prevents the ink from "bleeding"
3.Stamp your design onto the tile

4.After the dye has dried, you can embellish in any method you choose. The tiles will accept additional dyes, chalks, clay pieces, paint, Lumiere paints, - the ideas are as limitless as your imagination. I have added a light coat of Craf-T metallic rub-ons to these tiles and will further embellish them once I’ve decided on their use. However, I’ve made these to keep on hand when I need them for my scrapbook pages or cards.

5.After embellishing your tiles, spray them again with the sealant or cover them with a coat or two of UTEE to protect your image. If you are going to use these as a coaster, place felt or cork dots on the back to protect your furniture.
They are as easy to make as that and yet are magnificent additions to your creative artwork or used alone! Enjoy!
