Child's Sewing Card

This project makes use of those patterned papers that we probably all have. You know all those busy patterns or those juvenile patterns that we thought were cute in the store and then couldn't find a layout or card to use them on.

Supplies:

* Lightweight cardboard - from new shirts, cereal boxes, poster board, mailing envelopes. etc.
* Patterned Paper of choice [Frances Meyer Inc (daisy/denim) is used in this picture]
* Yarn or colored shoelaces (colored shoelace is used in this picture)
* Standard 1/8" hole punch, paper trimmer, scissors
* tape runner, double sided tape, or glue of choice

Finished size is 5-1/4" x 7-3/4"

Instructions:

1. Measure and cut the cardboard to the desired size, in this example the finished card is 5-1/4" x 7-3/4".

2. Apply the adhesive onto the cardboard. urn the patterned paper face down and adhere the now sticky cardboard to the back of the patterned paper.

3. Using your scissors, trim the excess paper from the cardboard.

4. Using the hole punch, punch holes around the outside edge of the card. Be sure to go in far enough onto the card so that there is a slight edge around the card. You can space the holes are far apart or as close as you would like them to be. If you have a long reach hole punch, you could create designs on the card instead of just making holes around the outer edge.

5. Include a piece of yarn or a colored shoelace and give to a child for enjoyment.
