Changing the Color of Your Stickers with Paint

Supplies: This is a very simple and easy technique to do and will utilize all of those miscellaneous letter stickers you have laying around in your drawer.

For this project, I used Basic Grey stickers in four different colors in order to complete the title "Christmas Decorations". I chose Making Memories paint because it dries quickly and works well on paper. If you don't have the Making Memories paint, just allow for a longer drying time and possibly your stickers soaking up some of the paint.

To paint on the stickers simply apply a small amount of paint to the tip of your sponge brush and begin to paint over the top of your letters.

Let this set for just a minute, then remove your painted letters from the sheet. With your brush tip pen, edge each of the letter stickers so the white edge is no longer showing. This gives a much cleaner look to your sticker and also helps it to "pop" when placed on the page.

If your stickers have lost their stickiness due to a lot of handling or your stickers absorbed a lot of the paint, run them through a Xyron machine or apply your favorite adhesive to the back. Place on your project and Voila! Custom colored stickers!

Here is my project that I used my custom colored stickers. The stickers were originally, blue, pink, brown, and black by Basic Grey. I applied Making Memories Celery to the stickers but the color blended into the background paper so I repainted them with Bordeaux and I liked that. Just because you don't like the color, don't throw them away, REPAINT! It is that simple.
