Organizing Your Scrapbook Embellishments

There are various products on the market to help get your scrap supplies under control. Some are available from specific manufacturers geared towards scrapbookers, while others are common products that can be found at such places like Walmart, etc.

Inspired by a recent Creating Keepsakes article on organizing your embellishments by color, I ventured into doing just that.

I purchased a few extra plastic floss organizer boxes like Cross-Stitchers use to store their floss in and started reorganizing my embellishments by color.

I made labels for my boxes using a dymo labeler and made one (or two) boxes per color... black, blue, brow, green, orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow.

Inside one of the color organized boxes:

I didn't stop there though, I made boxes to hold my Alphas... those sticker letters, die cut alphabets, and more, as well as metal embellishments, etc.

Setting up this system only took a couple of hours and less than $2.00 (price will vary from area to area) per organizer box.

Having all these embellishments seperated like this makes it so much easier when I am looking for a certain embellishment or color. I just have to grab a box and start matching up the embellishments with my layout, card, etc. It was well worth the time I spent reorganizing my supplies.
