Mounting Unmounted Stamps With Two-Sided Adhesive Tape

Unmounted rubber stamps require a mounting system. One very easy and economical way to utilize unmounted rubber stamps is to use two sided tape and a flat surface block. I have read suggestions to use Lincoln Logs, children's blocks or the solid bottom of a glass as a stamping block for unmounted stamps. The stamping block stabilizes the image and allows the stamp to be handled more effectively.
The required supplies for adhesive tape mounting are the following:
Two sided adhesive tape (strong hold is excellent)
Unmounted Rubber Stamp
A stamp block (I have also used my magnetic stamp handle with this technique.)
Undo (for clean up)
1. Place 2 sided tape on the stamping block.
2. Adhere stamp to block.
3. Ink Rubber Stamp.
4. Utilizing a cushion, (foam sheet, mouse pad or Scrapworks Push Pad)- Stamp Image .
5. Remove Adhesive Tape with Undo.
The image below is stamped with a Leave Memories Ribbon Stamp. The stamp was inked with Pearl Ex Stamp Pad Essential Color: Black. Notice that because the stamp is not elevated with a mounting system, the acryli c block gets inked along with the stamp. The stamp is adhered well to the block and I can mash and twist the stamp into the ink and the rubber stamp does not fall off. The adhesive tape mounting method requires padding underneath the object to be stamped. This can be cumbersome, but it does work well. I also embossed the stamped image.
This pretty card is stamped with the adhesive tape method on Twill and paper.

This method also works good for storing unmounted stamps. Simply adhere the stamp to the storage system with the 2 sided tape. This method makes unmounted stamps easy to use and is more economical than a typical mounting and storage system. The disadvantage is it requires the removal of the adhesive between stamps.
