Mounting Unmounted Stamps With Magnetic Tape, Using Magnetic Stamps

Unmounted Stamps need to be used with a mounting system. One option for unmounted stamps is to use magnetic tape. Making Memories came out with a magnetic stamp handle and rubber stamps with a magnetic background.

Magnetic adhesive tape, purchased at a hardware store or craft store, can turn a stamp into a magnet. To mount your unmounted stamps with Magnetic Tape the following supplies are needed:

Unmounted Rubber Stamps;
Adhesive Magnetic Tape;
Sharp Scissors (I recommend KIA Heavy Duty Shears).

1. Cut individual stamp image out of rubber stamp sheet.
2. Peel off adhesive back off of two sided magnetic tape.
3. Press image smooth side of rubber down on the adhesive side of the magnetic tape.
4. Cut with Shears.

The above image shows a Leave Memories Ribbon Stamp adhered to the adhesive side of the magnetic tape.

The above image shows that the magnetic tape can be applied in strips to fit a larger stamp. (Magnetic Tape is available in a variety of sizes. The above referenced tape is the 1/2" size.

The above image shows the completed trimmed stamps.

To Use Magnetic Stamps:
1. Assemble magnetic stamp handle
2. Place stamp on magnetic bottom of stamp handle.

3. Multiple stamps can lined up to make phrases.
4. Ink

The above image shows the stamp handle in use inking the stamps. I noticed that using and up and down motion for inking the stamps works well. If you twist the handle to knead the stamp into the stamp pad, the magnetic stamps fall off.

*using a cushion under your paper (a foam cushion, mouse pad or Scrapworks Push Pad) makes for a better stamped image.

The following layout has the stamped decorative squares as embellishments. They have been embossed with silver embossing powder.
