I found this technique in the Scrapbooking Solutions by Creating Keepsakes (amazing book!!). I donīt have too many rubber stamps which are small and round to make the faux wax seals, and have hard time finding the colourful glue sticks (here in Mexico). I thought I could alter this technique and use my normal rubber stamps, clear glue sticks and a few acrylic paints.

You will need:
Clear glue sticks (or colored if you have them!)
Glue gun
Release paper (useless photographs could work, also wax paper but the Xyron leftovers will work the best).
Small rubber stamps
Ink pad
Acrylic paints
Sealer

1.First pre-ink your stamp and set aside.

2. Pre-heat your glue gun for 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Make a glue disc on your release paper big enough to place your entire stamp. Let it cool for 4 or 5 seconds.

4. Press the inked stamps into the warm glue, wait until the glue is cool and remove your stamp first. Then remove your faux wax seal.

5. Next paint the entire faux wax seal with black paint, allow to dry completely.

6. With a flat brush paint the surface with a contrast color, try to not to cover the entire surface of the seal so you can still see the black paint. I painted my seals with red.

7. To add sparkle, paint slightly with metallic paint.

8. Be careful while handling the seals because the paint will tear easily. To avoid this use the sealer. I used the Matte Finish sealer by Krylon.

Although this technique is a little time consuming you will love the results. You can use it to make letters in the middle of the night if you donīt have the right color/letter while you make a title. I put the letter I made in the title of my Altered Altoid tin and I made a Thank you card with the flower faux wax seal. These seals are also great to use on scrapbook pages because the glue is light and acid safe so feel free to use them wherever you want!.
