Covering a Slide Mount with Paper
by Cathy Leffler

One of my favorite techniques for using slide frames is to cover them with matching paper. It is easy to do and looks terrific.

Supplies:
slide mount
paper (lightweight works best) (Fabric can also be used)
exacto knife
scissors
two sided tape

1. Place slide frame on the back side of your paper.

2. Measure a 1.5 cm margin around the slide mount.

3. Using a cutting tool, cut the square of paper out.

4. Place the slide, face down, on the wrong side of the paper

5. Using an exacto knife cut an X from corner to corner in the middle of the slide opening.(Alternatively, use a paper piercer to make a small hole in the middle of the slide opening and then cut the X with a small scissors). Refer to example below

6. Apply the two sided tape to the back of the slide, do parallel sides first. Fold the inside triangles over the double sided tape. See example below:

7. Miter the corner edges in and then fold and adhere them.

8. Use more two sided tape as needed.

9. Add embellishments, if desired.

8. To finish off the back of the slide: I apply two sided tape and adhere it my layout.

I have many examples of wrapped slide frames in the gallery, and I look forward to seeing yours. Please post a note in the forum, with a link to your creations. I would love to see them.
