Candy Cane Reindeer

I just love surprising people with little thank you gifts around the holidays - a waiter at a restaurant, the postal worker, the bank teller or teacher. Candy Cane Reindeer make that perfect little gift before OR after the holidays! Just a few things are needed and making them is a snap!

Items Needed:

Candy Canes, any flavor
Chenille stems or pipe cleaners, any color or size
Pom-poms, any color or size
Googley Eyes, any size

Step One: Take out all the materials and place them on your craft area for easy access. Start with gluing on the eyes and nose. I used a glue gun, so make sure that it's properly heated. I recommend attaching all the eyes and noses to the candy cane s in an assembly line kind of method.

Step Two: Pick up one candy cane and stem. Take the stem and place underneath the hook in the candy cane and bend up around the candy cane. Try to make each side even.

Step Three: Twist the stem around the candy cane at least three times making it tight around the candy. If it is floppy and moves along the candy cane, place a dot of glue on either side of the stem to hold in place.

Step Four: Bend the stem into a zig zag design or any shape you want to create. Have fun here! You're done with this reindeer, so repeat from step 2 to add the stems to the rest of the candy canes.
