by ReneeI have always been leery of using glitter. A large part of that is the mess, but also because I have never really known how to use it. I would see layouts and other projects that have glitter on them but never really had a firm grasp of how to get that look. When I found out that we would be reviewing glitter and Wonder film from PK Glitz, I was a little afraid. But, I stuck with it and am really glad I did. I learned a lot and really believe that glitter will become a permanent fixture in my scrapbook projects.
For this review, I received one Fall 2 colorwheel of glitter, which included 6 jars of glitter in all the fall colors. I also received a silhouette template with Wonder Film shapes (8 pieces), a small package of pre-cut Wonder Film shapes and a sheet of the Wonder Film itself. The Fall 2 colorwheel includes the following colors: Carnival, Black, Copper Penny, New England Autumn, Cinnabun, Egyptian Treasure. I really loved how the different colors are not one color, but a mixture of many different colors of glitter. This allowed the glitter to have a lot of depth on the project. I also really, really enjoyed using the Wonder Film and Wonder Film pre-cut images. By using the Wonder Film, you are able to get the glitter EXACTLY where you intend for it to be. And better still, it stays there permanently, with no rubbing off or shedding. The rub off issue has been one of my primary objections for using glitter. I do not like to have glitter come off in my page protectors and all over my projects. With this, you have no rub off.
For my first project, I created a layout about my love of creating. I used several of the pre-cut leaves to make accents for my flower layers. Then I got really bold and die cut my title using the Wonder film and my Cricut. I was very surprised to see how well it cut. I didn't even remember to change my depth and pressure settings and still got a clean cut. I did discover that I needed to put the uncut film on a scrap of cardstock, then cut my die cut, then remove the paper covering and glitter. My title looks better than the very expensive letter stickers that are out now, for only pennies to make. Can't beat that!

For my second project, I tried out one of my ideas for Christmas gifts. I used a silhouette Wonder film from the Kimono pack to create an angel on the front of a sticky note holder. To get the clean lines on my angel, I followed a tutorial on the PK Glitz website and used an x-acto knife to cut away portions of the die cut, one at a time. This allowed me to apply glitter as I needed to various parts of the die cut. I got a very clean line using this technique, which really helped to change my die cut into an angel.

For my final project, I tried out another of my gift ideas. I used the wonder film die cut shape of a leaf, cut and glittered to look like a short and fat Christmas tree for my Christmas tag/ornament. It was very easy to alter the leaf shape into the size I needed for my tree, and again I used a knife to lift up only the portion of adhesive covering I needed for the part I was glittering. I am really pleased with my little ornaments.

This was a fun product to work with. Having the Wonder Film made it so easy to work with. I already have my order in for more of the film.
Review by StephaniePK Glitz, formerly known as Powder Keg, is a company that creates an assortment of wonderful products which incude Ultra Fine Art Glitter, Embossing Glitters, Ritzy Ditzy Glitz, and Sticky Papers. Because of their unique, fine qualities, these products add sparkle and shine to anything you create.
For my review I received PK Glitz' Fall collection of 5 individual jars of glitters, along with a sheet of Wonder Film and a package of Christmas silhouette shapes with matching stencils. Having never used the Wonder Film before, I was really excited to get a first hand chance to play with it. Now, I am a very messy scrapper, and glitter and I usually don't play very well together. But, seeing all the wonderful projects completed with PK Glitz products made me want to rethink my glitter usage and play right away.
I had a number of metal stencils that had been collecting dust forever and I thought they would be great to use with Wonder Film and glitters. After creating my first design, I realized I needed to cut the Wonder Film in advance to fit the stencil so as to minimize waste. The Wonder Film is an amazing product and it truly does allow glitter to stick amazingly well. All I needed to do was determine what colors I wanted to use and where. The glitter stuck immediately, with minimal "fall off." I like to mix colors so the leaf was a perfect stencil to use. I added a little bit of each glitter color, returning the leftover glitter to its jar before applying the next color. With a little bit of care, it was easy to color the leaf in stages and create a leaf that was changing color in anticipation of fall. The stencil pulled away from the Wonder Film with a little bit of effort, but the Wonder Film did not tear, nor did the glitter move. I then poured some white glitter on top of the entire image to cover the tacky area that remained when I removed the stencil.

Now that I had one project done which (in my opinion) turned out gorgeous, it was time to work with my witch stencil. Again, I have had this lovely lady for years, but could NEVER get the look I was seeking when using her as an embossing stencil. Welcome PK Glitz Wonder Film and glitter and voila - she is gorgeous! Again, because of the Wonder Film, I was able to add color as I wanted since the Wonder Film kept the stencil in place while I worked. In some areas I poured on the glitter, then tapped off the excess. In some areas, I applied the glitter to my finger tips and applied it. Either application works because the Wonder Film holds the glitter firmly in place.

I realized after I made this Christmas card that the glitters I used were too close in color to really create a great card, but I do love the effect. Next time, I'll remember to use a lighter background glitter.

I also received a package of Christmas silhouette shapes and matching stencils that I wanted to work with. Since the shapes are pre-cut from Wonder Film, I knew they'd be as much fun to work with as the stencils I used in my cards. Looking at the stocking shape, I knew I wanted to add red glitter to it, but I also wanted to add some Flower Soft to its top for a "fluffy" effect. I removed the backing and adhered the stocking to cardstock and then I lightly scored the Wonder Film, removing it from the bottom part of the stocking. I then added red glitter. Once that was done, I took off the top piece and added the Flower Soft, patting it down so that it would stay in place. They turned out well and even when I cut around the stocking, I had no "fall off." I then took the Christmas ornaments and repeated the process. After adhering them to cardstock, I removed the top layers and cut them into pieces so I could create assorted designs on the ornaments. I replaced the cut pieces and, removing one piece at a time, I added glitter, then moved onto the next area. Using this technique, I was able to create three very individual and unique ornaments. I had way too much fun with these pieces! They are perfect accent pieces for a Christmas layout.

I love the colors of the glitters I received and I honestly must say that I love Wonder Film! With this product it was so easy to create so many different projects with little or no waste or mess. This, for me, was the biggest issue, and I truly did enjoy working with these products. I must admit that I ran out of Wonder Film, so I picked up another type of sticky sheet, and it just did NOT work as well as Wonder Film. Thanks PK Glitz for yet another amazing set of products. I can't tell you how happy I am to work with glitter now! I'm just so upset that I can't create any more projects because I ran out of Wonder Film!
Review by Pomaika`iWho among us doesn't like to pour glitter on a sticky surface and shake the extra away to magically reveal a decorated surface? Ever since childhood I have enjoyed this type of art! This ScrapFriend Review is for a few new PK Glitz products. I usually don't use glitter in my work, but this seemed like a rare treat to be able to re-visit my childhood memories.
I received 6 (.25 ounce) jars of glitter packaged in a re-useable round plastic storage container. PK Glitz calls this collection a "Color Wheel." The collection I received was called "FALL I" and included the colors: Steel, Chocolate, Pumpkin, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Buttered Rum, Gilded Grape Leaf. This glitter is micro-fine, not like the type we used in the old days. This fine grain glitter allows for creating fine detail on projects as you will see later. I also loved the rich sophisticated colors, ones I could use on any layout.
I also received a double-sided sticky sheet called "WonderFilm" that has super strong adhesive on both sides, but is punchable, even with the hardest of punches. If you have a die cut machine, I have been told that this product is also die cut-able. I can report excellent punch-ability with a really old McGill punch that sometimes won't even punch through thick cardstock! According to the PK Glitz website, WonderFilm sticks to glass, acrylic, paper mache, cardstock, wood, and many other surfaces. I used it only on paper, but I can easily see from the properties of the sheet that it would be perfect for all types of surfaces.
PK Glitz also has pre-cut shapes of "Wonder Film" called Silhouettes and various shaped templates. I received a sampler pack of a few Fall and Christmas shapes as well as a plastic Kimono template and 8 Kimono WonderFilm cut outs. These shapes are ready to go, just peel and stick, then shake away.
Using the WonderFilm cut outs was easy once I figured out the sequence. The first thing you should do is to stick one side of your cutout onto the surface you want it to be on, then decorate with glitter. I made the mistake of decorating a Kimono cut out before it was permanently adhered to my card and it was touch and go getting the cut-out safely placed. WonderFilm is incredibly thin. The good thing about this is that it will stick to curved surfaces really well, the bad thing is that you really want to place it on a surface before decorating.
To get multi-colored glitter designs, simply use the protective coating you have removed from the top of the sticker as a mask. You can cut the mask out into any shape you like and put it back onto the sticker. Shake your first color of glitter on, remove the excess and then remove the mask. You can then add your second color of glitter to the exposed sticky surface where the masks were. I had the most fun with this technique as you can see from my projects below. Actually, it was pretty addicting.
For my first project, I created a Halloween layout. I embellished it with a pumpkin and leaf WonderFilm cut outs. I punched masks in the shape of a star and square for the eyes and cut out a mouth shape from the protective layer and placed them back on my sticker. I layered the leaf right onto my pumpkin and decorated it. I punched the star at the junction of the three photos from my sheet of WonderFilm. It was very easy to punch. I can see a great potential for those old punch shapes!

For my second project, I created a set of cards with an Oriental flair. I used a mask for the three sharply delineated Kimono designs, and for the last one, I just randomly spread glitter on the Kimono (Bamboo background) for a softer design. I like both effects.

My last project used paper scraps from my stash for the background, and a PK Glitz Tree cut out for the embellishment. I cut out masks for "snow" on the tops of the boughs and for the trunk. This one was a lot of fun to do!

After reading my review you might think that using PK Glitz WonderFilm, Silhouettes and Cut outs sounds easy. You're absolutely right! I don't know if it's the properties of the WonderFilm itself that makes embellishing with glitter a snap or what, but I was very pleased with how the stickers adhered to the surface of my paper and how easy it was to create masks and use them. The only problem I had was that the mico glitter is so small that it is sometimes very difficult to get every last bit of it back into the jars, and it can get all over the place. Minor inconvenience, because there is a generous amount of glitter in each jar. I'll just enjoy my glittery desk for a while.
I had a blast playing with these PK Glitz products. These products are great for Scrapbooking, Card Making and Altered crafts. If you are interested in putting a little bling into your life, I highly recommend getting yourself some PK Glitz WonderFilm, Silhouette Shapes and Glitter, then get ready for a great time! Trust me, it's much better than Kindergarten!!!

by PennyI have been a fan of PK Glitz glitters for a few years now so I was very excited to be a part of this review! What sets PK Glitz's glitter apart are its baby-powder-fine texture and its extreme sparkle.
I received their FALL II color wheel with six colors of glitter: Carnival, Black, Copper Penny, New England Autumn, Cinnabun, and Egyptian Treasure. It is a gorgeous fall assortment that can be used in so many ways!
The first thing I did when I received my review package was take the glitters out so that I could get a close look at each of their colors. I couldn't wait to get started using them! You can see all six colors of the glitter on my first project. I applied Mod Podge and some Ranger adhesive with a foam brush to cover my raw chipboard pieces before sprinkling each with glitter and letting it dry.

My second project used one of the many Silhouette WonderFilm pieces available -- the pumpkin. You simply peel off the back of the WonderFilm and adhere it to your project. Once you have it placed on your project you remove the top protective sheet from the WonderFilm revealing a clear sticky surface ready for glitter!
The WonderFilm is AMAZING. It keeps the glitter smooth and solidly adhered with just the right amount of coverage. For the pumpkin I sprinkled a tiny amount of darker glitter for the shadow lines, a bit of green on the stem and a lighter golden glitter on the rest of the pumpkin.

For my final project I used the WonderFilm sheet which is used in the same manner as the Silhouette pieces except it comes in a sheet ready for your own designs. I used my Cricut die cutting machine to cut out the swirls on my next project and a small circle punch to create the circles.

Even though I LOVE this glitter it does get messy and, because it is so fine, a bit challenging to clean up completely. The WonderFilm makes glittering super simple and easy - there is absolutely no mess involved! Simply sprinkle on and then brush off any excess glitter and you are done...the remaining glitter is securely stuck to the film. The addition of the WonderFilm sheets makes your options limitless. Die cut machines, punches or hand cut images are all good uses for this product. If you haven't tried PK Glitz's glitter then you are really missing out on what a fine quality glitter looks like. Adding the WonderFilm to your glittering projects just makes it that much easier and is a wonderful must have!
